It's an apples to oranges comparison, as you noted.
Because the haves have no business speaking for the have nots. Simple as that.
Professional athletes, actors, etc. need to get out of the societal discussions. They're view points have no merit. If LeBron wanted to make a change he'd use his platform to give people who actually struggle a voice, not use his to say look at me, I'm important social justice man. He's not, and its not just minorities who need to shut up and play, they're just the only ones playing the victim when this shit comes up.
Lol good god
Well... I'm right and you're wrong, so I'm glad you're happy about that.
It’s amazing how quickly these people out themselves if given the slightest opportunity to do so
Outed as??? Because if you're jumping to the "racist" BS, well I'm afraid you'd be way off here.
I mean you've clearly got a narrative you're trying wrote here, so just keep going with that.
My momma was raised in the era when
Clean water was only served to the fairer skin
Doing clothes you would have thought I had help
But they wasn't satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself
You see it's broke nigga racism
That's that "Don't touch anything in the store"
And this rich nigga racism
That's that "Come in, please buy more
What you want, a Bentley? Fur coat? A diamond chain?
All you blacks want all the same things"
Used to only be niggas now everybody playing
Spending everything on Alexander Wang
Is this a poem?
Who do you think should speak for the people? Billionaires from New York?
No one should speak for the people. The people should speak for the people. Jesus, do you need someone to speak for you? What LeBron James says isn't going to change anything. He's no more qualified to speak on the troubles facing lower middle class families than I am. For the record, I'm from a lower middle class family who had plenty of struggles too. Frankly, it's naïve to think that famous people's words are going to change the culture.
Capital? LOL. What a stupid kid.
This thread is just a dick measuring contest to see who’s the wokest.
so lets get to the general strike stage
Wow this might be the most ignorant post I've seen on TMB.
nba was sweating it out waiting for lebron to tell them if he planned to kneel or not during the height of it, be curious how it'd have gone then
unrelated to your post but man its fun to see people deflect people discussing a topic/caring about something as performative. you're telling on yourself when you claim that.
Lebron is getting that Jewish money.
"Hey, I know you grew up as a dirt poor minority and probably experienced a lot of fucked up shit but now you're rich so you can't reach back and try to help the people from which you came. Nope, just enjoy being rich. Shut up and dribble."
You're an idiot.
Though I wasnt surprised, wanted to click on this page to see why this thread was still going. Yuck.
Oh wow. Lebron didn’t grow up rich but he does have some history of being poor, black and American. W2s don’t mean you can’t have an opinion either.
Also he has donated and raised tons of money for schools and children. Especially in inner city Cleveland. I’m pretty sure those opportunities to better education is giving poor minorities a better chance, which will give them a platform.
Lebron James started a charter school that IIRC will pay for college for every student that qualifies. This school is also offering programs to help the parents. James is doing shit to help the voiceless aqquire a voice.
You called all white women that date black guys “mud sharks” you’re not the poster child for racial sensitivity.
Holy fucking shit at this post
The school stuff is somewhat true. His foundation is donating 2 mill a year while the tax payers are footing about 75 percent of the cost. I believe they are assisting with the startup costs too, whatever that is.
While the money is definitely a generous gift, his value comes from attaching his name to it, which in the districts mind is probably the real win.
Also it should be noted that it's a public school, not a charter one which is an important distinction
You've clearly never seen this post then:
My bad and you’re 100% correct it makes it that much better.
