Yeah I know it doesn't align to Euro leagues. Pretty obvious why as our attention in the US has already been consumed by CFB/NFL in the fall. It would be a failure to play the same season. It does make mid year transfer windows annoying for MLS teams
once everything shakes out with this deal and we find out what Apple and Adidas are kicking in, I wonder how close it gets to the numbers the Saudis were throwing around.
maybe someone thought better of what an extra several hundred million dollars meant in comparison to having to spend significant time in Saudi Arabia
friendly reminder that your Five Stripes are taking on the defending champs in some finger-licking MLS After Dark action tonight
It's going to be very funny when people spend hundreds on MLS tickets and then he doesn't even end up playing.
Rundown stadium Tax evasion Money laundering Nearly bankrupt Complete elitist mentality Fuck Barcelona, as bad as oil money clubs
He's still vastly superior to most soccer players on the planet. No that's not an exaggeration either. The thing with Messi is, the gap between him and the second best player was comically large, so him getting up there in age just makes him an elite player and not a guy who's just head and shoulders above everyone else like he used to be. Lead Ligue 1 in assists and finished top 10 in goals. To my knowledge, there isn't a single current active MLS player who could come close to doing that.
I think Mukhtar could probably put up some decent goal/assist numbers in Ligue 1 the likely frontrunner for MLS mvp to this point (Denis Bouanga) finished 10th in goals scored in the covid shortened year but only experienced mild success otherwise during his Ligue 1 stint those two guys are the cream of the crop in the league at the moment
It’s a massive deal especially considering he turned down a billion dollars to do it. Also fix thread title Where Eagles Dare its this season
