Neither of those sounds ideal. Roma is going to have to play like they did against Barca and dominate the ball and putting pressure way back in the Liverpool half to win.
I’ve read Roma doesn’t deal well with pace and pressing which for all of Barca’s greatness is something they don’t have a ton of. My worry is Roma hoofing it to Dzeko for knockdowns which is something that has bedeviled us forever. VVD just needs to follow him around the pitch
This tie comes down to who wins the midfield battle. Roma's midfield three absolutely abused Barca's at Olympico and probably got the better of them for 60 minutes of the tie at Camp Nou. If Roma pressures and out physicals Liverpool's midfield the same way, then it will neutralize to a large extent Liverpool's attacking three. Unfortunately, I think Milner is playing better right now than any midfielder we have seen in the competition so far, and Kopp's teams typically play solid, fundamental futbol through the middle. Liverpool's midfield is much more organized and suited to handle the physical style of play Roma presents. Hardly a hot take, but the only way we have a chance in this tie is to score an away goal because I don't see us keeping a clean sheet in either leg.
It’s also now the semis. Liverpool attack is absurd, it’s not crazy to think they definitely score in both legs
Been a completely different player for the most part next to VVD. The lack of depth at CB concerns me the most for the rest of the season.
Gomez should be close to coming back too I think. Maybe another week or so if their initial month diagnosis was accurate.
Liverpool’s Pre-Season Schedule So Far Dortmund – Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC – July 22, 9pm Man City – MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ – July 26, 1am Man United – Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI – July 28, 10pm Napoli – Aviva Stadium, Dublin – August 4*
Depends on the venue but I’d say easily. Utd v Real Madrid did sell out Michigan’s stadium a few years back though.
Looks like Lovren should be ok. Hopefully we can get a couple early goals and get the front 3 off in the second half. I'll be at the game in Charlotte. I assume that most of our starting 11 won't rejoin the team until they get back to Liverpool because of the World Cup but it will be my first time seeing the Reds, so they could run out 11 drunk supporters in jerseys and I will be happy. Looking at the schedule, we play Dortmund two days after their first games and 3 days before Pulisic's homecoming in Pittsburgh so I think the best we can hope for is a cameo in the last 10-15 minutes. Hopefully Klopp can say what he needs to say to him to make the transfer happen by the end of the summer.
That's the other think, check with the local LFC Club pages, some are doing blocks and some may have access to earlier tickets.
Lfc website just posted the ticket allotment and details. Apparently every away end ticket will have the persons name who bought it on every ticket and Roma will check ID to the ticket before entry into the Olimpico. There goes my chance of buying an away end seat.

Isn’t it crazy after years of feeling like this club was heading in 50 different directions at the same time that everyone is on the same page? Fans, coaches, management, transfer committee, and FSG all seem to working as one. Never once felt that way since starting to support the club back in 2005. I know we were all hot cold on the allez chant when it first came out but my god, it’s boss. Much better than ring of fire back in 2005.
Milner has had a twitter account for a month and is already the best at it. Don't personally like collars on soccer jerseys, but everything Salah wears looks great.
I like the collars because they feel more wearable, at least to me, in public. These are kinda weird tho.
I can see that. But they are still polyester sweat wicking shirts and much tighter than golf shirts. The most embarrassed I've felt for another human wearing a soccer jersey was a very fat Man City fan wearing their purple kit. He had a chin strapped beard that bypassed his chin and culminated at his Adam's apple. City have beautiful sky blue kits, but he buys their purple alternates like an asshole.
Yeah for sure. This is why I typically buy a size up and a long sleeve, they’re great for Nebraska winters and gamedays. Plus long sleeves seem more like a normal shirt to me idk. I have the 2006-08 long sleeve and it’s pry one of my favorite things I own. Get so many compliments on it and is a conversation starter. :aero:
I personally don’t want to just buy the home every season so if I like the away I’ll get that every other year (or got a goalkeeper kit once because I didn’t like the aways). I’ve also skipped and gone with just a track jacket one year
You are allowed to own a purple kit and should wear it with pride. I saw the man in question the day City were playing Chelsea. Big games, wear your best shirt. I was picking up a keg from a brewery for the tailgate before UGA beat UT 41-0.
