I’m most worried about Real sitting back a bit for the first half hour, absorbing our attack and hoping we shoot our wad in the first half with no goals to show for it.
Have a weird feeling set pieces will play a big role, which doesn't favor us. It would be amazing if we could nick one off a corner, and not let Ramos do the same.
Marcelo scares the shit out of me. If we can’t keep him from camping in our half of the field (especially when it leads to him coming in off the touch line and linking up) it’s going to be a long night
Lo fucking L at this http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...fident-real-will-beat-mentally-weak-liverpool
Madrid fans and media are cocky as fuck. Don't even think this will be a game. Hope their players feel the same way. This isn't a plucky bunker and counter team hoping to squeeze out a 1-0 win. If taken lightly we are able to blitz teams like few others can.
My daily affirmation today where I talk myself into us having a shot to win is that the only teams that can attack like we can this year that Madrid have played are Bayern and Spurs. Spurs beat and drew Madrid, Bayern should have won both games if their goalie wasn't actively helping Madrid. Even going back to the last 3 Finals they've won, Atletico twice and Juventus, both of those are defensive teams and sitting back against Madrid is like sitting back against City. Plus 35 year old Frank Ribery was running riot in both of those games. If Zidane shifts Casimero over towards Salah, Mane is going to get a lot of chance to get isolated one on one on the left side. Hopefully good Mane shows up.
FYI other than Kitro none of that is Madrid media. Two of the sources quoted are Barcelona newspapers.
I don't think you'd see any other team in the world do something like that. You guys have won two in a row so you're justified in being cocky. But, you guys sure have given us a bunch of bulletin board material as if we didn't need anymore motivation.
“Real Madrid have a great squad, and it’s the best club in Europe right now. They have to ratify that on Saturday. Real Madrid will beat Liverpool 4-1. “I cannot find a single Liverpool player that improves Real Madrid, [not even] Salah. [Gareth] Bale and [Karim] Benzema are very good.” -Vicente del Bosque
El Pais journalist Diego Torres spells out just how sure of victory Real Madrid are: "There isn't any sensation of fear in Madrid about Liverpool - among the directors, among the players. "They're relaxed in Real Madrid before this final. They've never been so calm and confident in the club before a final than now. This final is the easiest final they have in front of them, all of them - Florentino Perez, the captains. Everyone.
“It’s hard for Madrid fans to know if they can beat Liverpool. But I’m an optimistic realist and I think Madrid are virtual winners already. Why? Because Liverpool will be crushed by Madrid’s legend. Beating them is like beating the Invincibles, although Klopp thinks Zidane’s Madrid is a giant with feet of clay and there’s some sense in that.” Julian Ruiz in El Mundo
It says "On to Kiev". It's a marketing tool to sell merchandise as they were available for purchase minutes after that match. They wore similar shirts when they clinched a spot in Lisbon, Milan and Cardiff. Klopp's using something like this as motivation is an incredible reach. Again, literally nothing is coming from anyone even tangently associated with the club. Illini's inability to grasp that () and listing quotes from Spanish rags and Barcelona newspapers reinforces that point. Surly you guys are used to this kind of stuff dealing with English media, no?
Excuse me while I tag the Chelsea/Arsenal/Spurs fans and ask them what they think of Daily Mail, or The Sun, or The Mirror etc etc. Again, not a single solitary word coming from anyone even tangentially associated with the club. Good job outing the dozens of shit rags across Europe! You did it!
Does anyone know if anybody, even tangentially, associated with Real Madrid have said a word about being over confident?
Not sure. Xabi Alonso did say that he enjoyed his time at Real far more because the fans are much better
He didn’t have the will to play in the champions league final for you guys. His heart is very clearly still in Liverpool.
Ronaldo told me in confidence that he knows they will win easily. I occasionally play FIFA Pro Clubs with players who are made up as Asensio and Isco and they are also very confident. I reached out to ChileanNole‘s son for comment and he said “Isco Isco Isco Isco Isco”
Klopp said today that both Milner and Can are fit enough to play in the final. Both are on the 24-man squad.
You could cut a verse or two. Suarez had a fairly wordy song which was awesome. Hell, we won it 5 times is like a 4 minute song with all of the lyrics
I was at a coffee shop in Whitefish, Montana one time and this song came on and no one else understood why I was so pumped. I couldn't imagine it coming on when I was fucked up and in a great mood like you probably were in Jaurez.
