I mean if you can sign Bellingham you absolutely do it but you could do a lot with the €150M or whatever it’s gonna take to get that deal done and this Liverpool squad seems closer to needing a bit of an overhaul than they do to just being a piece or two away from winning titles. I think Liverpool and Real are going to have to operate very similarly moving forward in that success is going to heavily depend on the ability to identify, acquire and develop young talent with world class potential. Both are going to have to rely on the ‘historically big club’ sales pitch as there’s just no way to financially compete with Oil State clubs or the terribly managed, free spending wannabes like Chelsea or Barca.
