Year after year now we've seen Lovren, Gomez, and Matip all go down with medium to long term injuries. At some point they have to realize these guys are better part timers and invest in a real partner for VVD. I don't think that player is available in January though.

The CB I've seen mentioned most as a target is Ben White. But he is a Brighton player on loan at Leeds so I don't see anyway they bring him in January.
