Think he is behind Rhys and Billy Koumetio. But in preseason what everyone was saying was how good Koumetio looked, then he got an injury and Rhys jumped ahead of him for the League Cup games. Nat Phillips is also alive and well I presume.
And Klopp should kick himself for trusting the health of Matip, who might not even be ready for man city.
Klopp said that they didn't include Phillips in the Champions League squad because they thought he was leaving, but he is in the PL squad. So it is between him, Rhys, and Koumetio assuming Matip isn't fit. Phillips is longterm probably a starter for a championship side, but it is better than nothing.
Right. The issue then would be that I think our foreign player number is full. I wouldn't take VVD off of it on the off chance he comes back and we make a deep run in the Champions League. Course my position for 2 years has been to sell Origi if he wants to go somewhere and get more minutes and if the offer is fair. I just don't see where he gets many minutes for us.
I would think the chances of VVD back by May to be very slim. Sounds like origi to Brugge will be happening. He knows he is #7 on the list rather than #4/5 like he used to be.
