that also but i think unless your world class it can kill your development. Most people, even guys like VvD need like 7 steps to get from the small time to the big time. Small dutch club youth--> big dutch club youth--> u23 dutch big club/smaller loan club (they actually play the same level)--> big dutch club/small english club --> tier 2 PL (clubs like everton, west ham or manchester united or something like that)--> PRIMETIME. Unless talents are transcendent thats usually how you see a succesful career and going to pool that young is like trying to skip a step or 2 or going to the loan-out hell where you are never truly educated on your game and just spend time after time adjusting to new systems, new playbooks, new nomenclature and new colleagues
Incredibly not shocked that Guinea rushed Keita back and now he's hurt again. Fuck international soccer.
And risk drawing the ire of your fellow countrymen? I don’t think it’s always that easy and it’s just not a good situation in general.
Yeah, I can only imagine how hard it would be to turn down playing for your national team. I should point out this is not meant to be sarcastic.
Honestly I thought spending the money on Alisson was unnecessary. Boy was I wrong. We are back to back Champions league winners if we had him in he prior year.
Afcon sucks because most teams are reliant on 1 super star and the rest of the team isn’t very good. Massive pressure on each teams superstar to play well and through injuries. We have 3 players propping up 3 nations chance to win. In South America at least most teams have multiple superstars so players don’t have to play through injury.
You miss the one he fucked up earlier? I shouldn't be so negative but it's absurd how bad our front three are at pens
The thread is not short, but chock full of stats-heavy analysis of the RB position in the PL last year.
Great read. I enjoy data like that. That also confirms that i'm justified in wondering why spurs fans on here are excited about the idea of getting rid of Trippier.
Don't know about the others but all the EPL guys stats are wrong in that anyway. TAA is at 25% and Wan-Bissaka is only 21%. That UtdArena account is notoriously terrible. Earlier today it was touting Rashford as the "most accurate free taker" in the top 5 European leagues. Rashford scored a grand total of 1 free kick last season.
They added a bunch more to this twitter thread this afternoon. If you liked it before, check out the new material.
It will be interesting to see how Brewster plays in preseason and if they try him out wide. Wilson too. I get the impression Liverpool don't want to spend big this summer because the guys they want won't be available until next summer.
Seeing Citeh reinforce is why I hope we do something. Don’t get me wrong I like the squad but we’re in more comps to try and win so we need depth.
Honestly no one is probably catching city if they continue spending. But I have to say we should probably trust our ownership and management right now. They just assembled the greatest non oil funded team in premier league history and won a champions league. Let’s give them a chance to do it their way.
