I assumed with Allen being a conservative and being somewhat replaced (toy vs. person, older vs. younger) by a lib that there would be some fun replies on Twitter and I was not disappointed.

They've described Lightyear as a movie Andy would have seen in Toy Story, which the Buzz Lightyear toys were based off of. Like Andy watching a Buzz movie in universe and then buying a Buzz toy.
