They put a couple Asian tigers in Africa that they took back to Asia after they fucked some shit up and killed a few things in Africa. One of them was named Tiger Woods
I remember my mind being blown when I learned about how much more fucking massive most species of tigers are than the other big cats. Like, twice the size of lions, and 3x larger than jaguars.
Bella is the GOAT big cat diary cast member. Leopards were always my favorite part of that show, stealthy bastards.
Jaguar is number one for my money. Most powerful bite force of any land mammal, what is not to like? They kill tortoises by biting through the shell. Also, I feel like we've had this discussion before.
and here i was thinking i'd be safe if i just sat in the pool underwater if i was in that leopard attack in OP
We absolutely have had this discussion before but the recent exploits of this ornery Indian leopard have led to a slight shakeup in the BCCS.
Never said it was a good plan, but in that moment I would have jumped in, and likely been turned into a red puddle.
The Cheetah Experience at Busch Gardens is pretty badass. They basically have a cheetah run down a toy to show off their speed and agility. I never realized how incredible their strides are and how they're insanely thin they are. Much respect for the cheetah ever since.
Always found this terrifying and funny. Let me take this tiny stick and throw it at this charging 600lb cat.
I believe my gif at the top of the page is similar to what they use at BG, correct? I watched a show that broke down the perfect stride of the cheetah, everything from the tail movements to ear positioning. It's pretty remarkable.
Even the videos don't do it justice. Cheetahs cover like 9 feet in 1 bound or some crazy shit like that
I feel these are the primary categories to judge these creatures on (max score of five). Speed Bite Leaping Ability/Pounce Hunting Prowess Climbing Appearance/Aesthetics Bengal Tiger: Speed: 4 Bite: 5 Leaping Ability/Pounce: 5 Hunting Prowess: 5 Climbing: 4 Appearance/Aesthetics: 10 African Lion: Speed: 3 Bite: 3 Leaping Ability/Pounce: 4 Hunting Prowess: 3 (loses points for relying on pack hunting) Climbing: 3 Appearance/Aesthetics: 4
Bobcats are little. Like, adult males range from 14-40 lbs per wikipedia. I'm sure an average grown man could fight one off with his bare hands and definitely with a stick/torch. Doesn't really matter because those things are scared af of humans though.
guys there is a big cat rescue facility like an hour and a half from me. ohhaithur when are we going? http://www.exoticfelinerescuecenter.org/home.html
I'd do either one of those before I got anywhere near their heads. That's when bad things happen. And pretty sure my face is on TMB.
I always thought it was sad how a lot of big cats live solitary lives except when they breed or fight over territory and then I grew up and realized what a wonderful existence it must be.
Cheetah: Speed: 5 Bite: 2 Leaping Ability/Pounce: 4 Hunting Prowess: 4 Climbing: 4 Appearance/Aesthetics: 5
Growing up my one (wack job) uncle and aunt had a puma, they lived out in the middle of the pine lands in Jersey. Had this really large enclosure for it. I went out to see it a few times, never got really close to touch it but close enough. It would stalk you as you walked up to it. Very big cat. I was young but was scared and also in awe of it. Name was Samantha.
Watching something on cheetahs now. Can cover a 1/2 mile in 17 seconds, but would probably over heat and die if it ran any longer than that.
Why do guys hate cats so much? They're essentially tiny versions of these badass creatures. I've got a tiny cat and she's a fucking warrior. Every time she gets out of the house she brings me a mole or a bird.
Cheetahs are awesome but if I were going through the jungle and could only have one big cat sidekick, I would look elsewhere.
