Game is just begging for Shaqiri. I haven't disliked one of our players so much as I do Lovren since Enrique. He got abused 4 times in one half on fundamental CB duties.

 

Before the Aguero goal he got roasted by Sane

 

Gomez got hurt almost a month ago to the day. Surely he's back soon right? Maybe not for West Ham but shortly thereafter.

 

He got roasted twice by Sane, both times VvD had to clean it up. Got roasted twice by Aguero, one was a yellow card and the other was a goal.

Aguero wants nothing to do with the left side of our defense so he is camping, licking his chops to abuse Lovren.

 

Game just has all the makings of an incoming second yellow for Lovren.

 

Shaqiri or Naby need to go on.

We all would have taken the position we are in now at the beginning of the season so it’s hard to throw a fit over the game today but if there was ever an example of fine margins today was it.

If we had gotten that first goal I think the complexion of the game totally changes with City having to chase us for 2. Lovren had a bad game, the first goal and playing Aguero on (while also putting himself in no mans land) for the Allison save we’re really bad moments, but City are full of World Class players. One wrong foot and you are exposed. We are blessed to have the best CB in the world to compare our other defenders against.

Our best ever start have afforded us the opportunity to regroup, refocus, and continue to play from the front after what many of us would have thought would have been a knife in the gut loss just a month ago. Play mostly backups in the FA cup, give the key players a couple days off to reset mentally, and steamroll Brighton in 9 days and off we go again.

Gomez is going to be back soon and the only midweek games from here on out are CL games.

 

Really hope we just absolutely capitulate to Wolves in the FA Cup. Origi, Sturridge, Shaqiri, Lallana, Keita, ?, Moreno, Philips, Lovren, ?, Migs. No interest in the FA Cup this year.
