Loved the prologue. It was neat to see things from sixskins perspective and very informative of the world of skin changers. Well played GRRM, clever way to establish rules/boundaries without bland exposition. Shit like this will be very hard to explain in the series because I really don't feel like they've set it up very much. Why is it that the stark children and Snow are all wargs? I don't get that, but do wonder if dragons can be used in that way...

Tyrions chapters were something I really missed in AFFC. If/when he dies, Jamie better step up his smartassness. Even though he didn't do anything entirely important, you still enjoy the shit out of his POV. Somebody please tell him where the whores go.

Dany's chapters are entertaining, but hope that they pick up some.

So far, much more exciting than AFFC, though AFFC ended well. Hope to find some more close misses or tie-ins to the on goings of AFFC.

 

Was Ned or any of the other Starks? Don't spoil if i'm going to read it plz.

 

So what I'm gathering is that the wolves were a gift from the gods(I agree) and that because of the close relationship that the starks(+snow) have with their direwolves, they become aware of the ability?

I can buy that.

Just finished Jon's first chapter, freaking love this book so far.

Tyrion chapter was amusing as normal. GRRM has mind-fucked me to the point where I now think any new character is really some older character in disguise.

Onto first Davos chapter. Should be interesting as he was supposedly beheaded.

 

Davos met with Godric in the sisters.

Most interesting thing was the back story on Ned during Robert's rebellion. Told of the story of Jon Snow's mother and Ned hooking up...

Hopefully there's some twist and Davos' head isn't hacked off. Starting to like him more and more.

 

Forgot to mention, loved Snow beheading Slynt. Hope Alliser Thorne is next. Or, Thorne and Snow could just battle and Snow kills him. Either way.

 

Dany chapter, she just talked to Quaithe, who is one of the most intriguing characters in the whole series. Told her to remember who the house of the undying said she was, Dany remembers the "child of three"

I'm guessing that Quaithe is some sort of goddess, no way any mortal should have her sort of powers.

 

Reek-

WTF I don't know how to feel about that chapter.

On one hand, fuck Theon, do not care that he's being tortured though the shit is gruesome.

On the other, fuck Bolton and his bastard.

 

Bran chapter where he meets the 3 eyed crow...



I'm probably going to end up re reading this series. lol

I keep expecting to see Benjen Stark somewhere, though he might have been coldhands.

That chapter was nuts though and can't help but think itll be cool on the show.

 

Davos is on his way to meet with Manderly, just entered the castle gates.
Part of me wonders if they'll find a way to trick Kings Landing and part of me thinks GRRM will let you think they didn't really kill Davos, I mean who would tell you someone is dead and then actually kill them right? Well GRRM would. He's mindfucking me big time.

There was also some interesting talk about the Targaryens, idk what to make of that.

 

He is well scripted in the art of brain control.

WTF is he going to do with 1000 widlings? Guess he'll try and earn their trust and make common foe vs the wights/others.

GRRM is an asshole. Part of me is still holding out hope that they can rescue tyrion(not actually gonna happen) but what a lame death. The davos chapter's only intent was to piss you off and create more villains. There's still hope that Wylla/Osha-Rickon-Shaggy rescue him and they send anothers head, but that's too happy of a solution.

On to Reek the geek chapter.

 

Well tyrion isn't dead which is a great thing. He just ran into Jorah at the brothel who said he was taking him to the 'queen'.... But does he mean Cersei or Daenerys?

Glad Jorah has been easing the tension on some hoes.

 

Lol you'd have to think he meant Daenerys unless he's totally tried to move on and his again trying to get a pardon to live in westeros.

 

Because he fucking loves Daenerys and could possibly try to make amends with her by delivering such a important westerosi family's hostage.

If anything, GRRM has proven that love trumps logic in this series.

Arrec, it's not retarded at all. It's about Jorah's thoughts, he doesn't want a lordship in Westeros more than he wants Dany. So, making a gift of Tyrion to which queen would make Dany more happy? Not saying it'll get him back in good graces, but it's worth a shot. Plus, he can say "I could've taken him back to Westeros and been granted a lordship, but would rather bring him to you"

 

Just got done with Jon chapter where Melisandre tells him 3 rangers will die..

I haven't heard anything about Rickon yet...But, Manderly was saying to Davos that one of the Stark boys still live, and that he wanted Davos to get him. So, why is he going to Skagos? Did the ironborn kid, Theon's squire the mute boy, lie? Or did he not know where Rickon and Bran were going? Or did he actually know, and Rickon is on Skagos?

Or am I confused and the boy was actually following Bran? (thought it was Rickon because Rickon was going to white harbor)
