I don't have a problem with it other than that it's dishonest bullshit meant to skew the narrative to one that suits you. Tactics like that are what make it obvious you have no interest in legitimate engagement.

There is nothing wrong with having winners and losers, but in this country our floor should not start at $0.

"Exploiting the system" is Bernie's basic understanding of how Capitalism works, and capitalism, and that system of exploitation, is what Bernie used to write and publish his book and become a multi-millionaire, AND what he used to defend it (hey, you can do it too, just write a best selling book!). I can, and have, pointed you to where Bernie demonizes the top 1%. Multi-millionaires and billionaires. Bernie's made more than $500K/yr the last couple years, right?

So if his real issue is with people making all that money and not giving back, why does he hoard so much of his wealth and not give back?

I didn't mean for it to be dishonest at all. I think Bernie Sanders thinks multi-millionaires and billionaires are evil, and they are rotting this country, and standing on the backs of the poor, the weak, for their benefit. There was nothing disingenuous about me sing that word, but if you have a problem with it, then fine, omit it and carry on.

You can think what you want. I don't have much interest in whether Bernie thinks billionaires are evil. Like most reasonable people, he likely believes that some are good, some are bad, most are somewhere in the middle. The point is that a just society is incompatible with the current levels of income inequality. The morality of the wealthy is immaterial.

the best part of these threads is watching dumb fuck dan follow his idol lech around, slurping his balls, desperately hoping that maybe lech will one day give him the attention he so badly craves.

It's always just an attempt to discredit his message. If Sanders were poor the argument would be "of course he wants to tax the rich more."

There are a handful of posters I do not respond to on here. I don’t block anyone but I just don’t respond to them. It’s like poking a kid with a stick. Sure it’s funny and a great way to kill time but in the end it’s pointless and a little sad.

Contributing to what you consider to be an "unjust" society by becoming a member of the class you consider responsible for the "unjustness" is hypocritical. Knowing that just society is incompatible with the current levels of income inequality, then contributing to that imbalance by becoming a member of that elite 1%, while railing on the elite 1% is....hypocritical.

I'm also curious where you weigh in on the idea that the wealthy, by Bernie's own standards, "owe" society for the position they are fortunate enough to find themselves in, and should give back, and how you square that with Bernie's level of giving back to society?

Lastly, Bernie owns 3 homes. Three. None are mansions, none are million dollar estates, but he owns 2 or 3 more homes than most people. In the past he's said things like: how many cars do the wealthy need? How many Yachts? Give me a break, you can't have it all! Isn't it fair to ask him how many homes someone needs? Now me, personally, I think he should own 30 homes if he can, and wants to. Go for it. But judging him by his own standards, doesn't 3 homes seem a but much? Doesn't that contribute to his hypocrisy?

Without knowing the details of Bernie's homes, I'll concede that it could potentially be hypocritical.

As far as the wealthy "owing" society, I don't think it's about owing anything. They benefit from a functioning society, more even than most do. Their circumstances in life only exist because our society allows it. It is in their interest to keep society functioning well. It currently isn't for an unacceptable number of Americans, and it's trending in the wrong direction. They will suffer consequences of a societal breakdown just like the rest of us, also probably more than most.

Now, I'm not saying I believe a societal breakdown is likely any time soon, but philosophically that's the explanation. It's not about a debt to be paid or giving back to the society that allowed you to exist, it's about keeping it running.

Additionally, I don't much care about what might be considered fair to the wealthy class when weighed against the unfairness of children going to bed hungry.

To be clear, I'm not saying I think the wealthy "owe" society. I'm saying Bernie Sanders thinks the wealthy "owe" society. I'm not judging Bernie by my personal standards, or yours, I'm judging him by his own standards, and he's failing, miserably.

Are you saying you don't think it's right that the wealthy make millions and own a bunch of homes, when we have children who don't know where their next meal is coming from in this country? Bernie Sanders agrees with you based on what he says, and disagrees with you based on his lifestyle.
