was watching the show on YouTube that has Chris Rose and Trevor Plouffe and a couple other guys, not sure of the name because I'm not really up on a lot of MLB content, but they were doing their "Free Agent Draft" special and they kept talking about how many pitchers the Dodgers have coming back as a reason to why they weren't projecting any of the non Sasaki starters to LA.

I look at it the exact opposite. If anything this season has taught us that nothing is given, we were supremely lucky that Yamamoto was able to come back this season and contribute. In that scenario it feels like we lose that pitcher for an entire year like 90% of the time.

All the guys projected to come back (May, Cat Man, etc) could easily transition to being high leverage relievers or high level long relievers in the post season. Imagine using Gonsolin instead of Knack or Honeywell in that spot? The best use of Kershaw come playoff time going forward will be asking him to give you 3 lights out innings instead of him going 6 IMO.

I say go after additional reliable starters and if there is a glut of arms midway through the year they have pieces they can use in trades to address whatever needs pop up by the summer. Nobody coming back from injury has enough status to have the boo boo face over not having a guaranteed spot in the rotation aside from Kershaw
