My first postseason heartbreak was Niedenfuer. But those 90's teams with all the ROY's getting bounced also hurt a ton. Appears we have a pattern.
I'm old too, but I was five years old in '78. Not gonna act like I remember that one. I'm sure my dad wasn't happy but there's no way he'd ever let me know that.
They’ve just been getting worse and worse. 19, 21, 22 and now this. Awful Pitching grove in this spot is pretty pathetic
Hopefully peralta gets one more AB so he can roll a grounder to second base for a third straight time
I was nine. Bob Welch striking out Reggie Jackson to end Game Two is still one of my favorite baseball moments. Then the fucking Yankees took the next four
Lol that’s such a loser stance. Phillies got gut punched in game 2 and came back with a vengeance today. Dodgers are just soft
Imagine that, Taylor does something positive in the playoffs. Good thing he rode the bench all series
He had a strong second half. And as Mookie and freeman showed, it is important to play dudes who can perform in October
AZ got their groove in the wild card. Getting to Clayton early completely flipped the dynamic. Getting to Bobby early killed us. And as always, we couldn’t hit with RISP.
“They got in their groove” my man, the dodgers shit their pants for the third year in a row. Phillies would have swept Arizona. The outcome of this series has much more to do than a bad first inning in game one. Arizona didn’t even play that well in games 2 and 3.
It’s true. We don’t have any dogs or anyone that plays with any fire. Bauer and Urias seemed to have some but unfortunately they did off the field as well. We play every October with the intensity of a spring game. Even the WS year we got down 3-1 to the Braves. As i’ve said before a high priced superstar team needs an intense manager like Tommy or a Jim Leyland type. Unfortunately i’m not sure those type of guys exist anymore.
keep telling my pops that getting rid of Dave won't solve anything and the grass isn't always greener. Regardless, there do need to be some changes. In my opinion that comes from spending and making the right call ups next year (for example, one of the top prospect catchers should start the season on the roster). But I am wondering if I am just making excuses to not change things up because I am worried that the next manager could be a total dud
Going into this year, I found this team - and particularly all the random crappy short term veterans - hard to get excited about. I wasn’t even sure we would make the playoffs. It felt like we mailed it in from the start, and the egos of everyone involved were sure we could still be a contender. In fairness, we somehow still won 100 games. I hope we keep Dave, but we need a serious roster overhaul
less Peraltas and Barnes. Fine with bringing back utility players like Enrique (would actually be quite mad if they don't sign him). But we need to spend to get the depth back to where it was earlier this decade. also, you know, Ohtani
And to be honest I don’t blame anyone in the lineup after the 4 spot for this performance. Top do the order was absolute trash. Inexcusable from mookie and Freddie. Also the playoff format sucks. Having the top seeds sit out 2 weeks seems to be more of a hindrance than benefit. Wildcard geams are going to go 2-2 at worst. Braves need to win 2 in a row to be the only 100 win team in an LCS
