Love this team. Hope we can stitch together a glorious patchwork quilt of arms on the playoffs to support this offense because I love everyone in the lineup at this point.
No team is ever “loose” in the playoffs but this version of the squad has to feel less pressure than in years past because of the rotation issues. Fuck it, let’s win the whole damn thing.
Having given up Spectrum, I now watch the games on streaming sites. Tonight I'm watching the Tigers broadcast team. Kirk Gibson sounds like he's 82 years old.
Feels like we might have the arms as a staff if the offense doesn't dip. I'm excited to see which of the bats show up in the playoffs. Postseason pitchers are tougher to hit than the daily opposition. Maybe this year we don't squeeze the handle of the bat with RISP.
I will eat these words I’m sure but I have faith in the arms, starting and in the pen. Can’t believe we are at this point. And I think Braves pitching is vastly overrated I also love the lineup. deep and varied bench. but the Braves still scare me. Their ability to produce runs is insane. They’ve made a ton of late inning comebacks this year (and 2 more the last two days). But we get to see the Braves stars late in games when they are down big, as opposed the Roberts method of pulling the top of the order if we are down 5 after the 5th. So maybe we have that capability too, just haven’t seen it! I also like that we have some older guys who no one expected much out of this season. Peralta, Heyward, and JD have all been much more important and productive than I think anyone would have expected. Would love for them to have a chip on their shoulder and crush in the post season. In short Braves should be the favorites but I’m getting more confident in our chances with each additional inning the young arms get.
went tuesday night. I am going on a trip starting this weekend though so couldn't go to more. At this point I just want them to get to 100 wins (win 2 of the next 4), set up the rotation, and hope for the best possible outcome in the WC rounds (marlins over brewers?) I return from out of the country on october 9th, just in time to catch game 2 of the NLDS. not going to enjoy having to read how we did on in game 1 on twitter.
navigating my autumn knowing that USC has no defense and the Dodgers will be depending on Gen Z pitchers in the playoffs
I hear you but these games don't matter at all. I think they're just offering up "Here, hit this if you can" pitches. Turns out they can hit it.
I can see them being half checked out but any serious competitor does come out there and throw meatballs to the opposition. If they are I do not want them on a post season roster
