Daves been looking for a way out since he found out that they have mutuals. In one of the first scenes of them in Honduras, Lauren makes it crystal clear that she just got a wax and can't have sex for 24 hrs. Dave then goes around saying that she isn't ready yet.
The sister thing has been weird since the start but yeah having her pick them out for you, then saying it outloud like it was normal.
Dave has issues with people he's mutual with, sleeping with her in the past. People (mostly men) like that are insufferable and largely gaslight the fuck out of their partners.
His sister took up the role that his mom left behind, and the dude has zero self-awareness to recognize that he depends WAY too much on other people to govern his life.
Someone online pointed out that the Ben/Sara interaction about the TikTok rumors was rehearsed for the cameras. Sara’s body language in that scene was super off. Also, Ben assembling his DEI Avengers team for his meet/greet was hilarious
I enjoyed the Taylor/Daniel parents meeting...seemed genuinely authentic and good people all around. Dave has been terrible from the start. The Sarah/Ben TikTok thing seemed made-up just to create drama that they are lacking. Hopefully that is the case, because his excuses of "I don't remember" and "Maybe there have been some DM's" didn't pass the sniff test. Monica's sister sucks.

The fact that he won't let her meet his sister and friends that he keeps telling her are all talking shit about her is something. Also, Virginia definitely has a very high opinion of herself and thinks the basketball coach isn't gonna amount to much. Still a babe.
Yeah the whole prenup thing was very strange. Lauren needs to find some self respect and get rid of Dave asap. Daniel and Taylor seem genuine and it seems like they handled the whole IG situation really well. I've seen several tiktoks about how Ben is a piece of garbage, so that curve ball was expected.

We have to finish the last bit of the final episode that was released on Friday.. but I still had some thoughts to add. Taylor/Daniel - this seemed like a doomed relationship with the Instagram stuff, but they have settle in as one of the best couples. Daniels family seemed really awesome and even if his Christmas shtick is odd, he seems solid. She has also seemed to rebound from the spiral she went down. Lauren/Dave - I really like Lauren and she seems like a genuinely nice person. Dave sucks, like in every way he seems like a shit guy and strong mommy (sister now) issues. With that said, I dont know that his concern over Laurens fling/FWB situation is all that crazy. If its true in that it was happening right up until the point that she left for the pods, and its someone he knows, that would be very awkward to deal with. Monica/Joey - they seem like a really good match and I hope they stay that way. Monica's sister is a nasty person and I think there seems to be a shit ton of jealousy coming from her. Even watching her during the scene with Monica's family joking about her fiancé, you could see how much it bothered her. Virginia/Devin - Feel like the age thing is going to become an issue for them, as is the difference in their careers. I am sure she sees the prenup as a way to protect herself, she seems far more stable and financially established. Ben/Sarah - dont really have much to say on them, they just kind of are there. I like her, and he has come across as a good guy, but alot of smoke around him being a shitbag, so who knows.
The problem with Dave's issue is that he's really not saying the issue is because it's some guy that he knows...when in reality it is 100% the issue. He keeps saying it's because he was told it led up to the night before she left. She has told him numerous times that that is completely not true and had her friends back that up...and his response is "Well, that's not what my sister and brahs say". It seemed lost on Monica's sister that that meeting was a 2 way street. It wasn't 100% on Joey for first impression...it's just as much on Monica's family as well.
The hard part is that everyone is saying Dave should have 100% trust in Lauren and not trust his friends. Again, I look at things from my perspective.. If I came back from the experience and immediately had all of my close friends telling me their mutual friend was hooking up with my now fiancé in the week(s) leading up to going, I would be a little bugged out too. The biggest issue is that Dave seems completely incapable of having complex thoughts/feelings on his own without outside influence, so its been doomed from the start. Agreed regarding Monica.. Also, Joey comes across as one of the most authentic guys on the show this season, mainly because he is a goofball and just owns it. Her sister claiming that its an act and all for show was hilarious. Even more so considering she had known him for an hour and it was the first team meeting everyone.
Got to say after seeing the tiktok and the follow ups its so insanely lame and we need to not give oxygen to fame seekers like that girl. Ben still sucks but this isn't why.
Did you catch when Dave/Lauren were talking about living together before marriage? He said when his family would sleep over at his maternal grandma's house, his dad would sleep in the basement instead of with his mom. This show goes out of its way to highlight American Evangelicalism. My wife pointed this out a few seasons back with the Dallas cast. But it's eye-popping with some of the themes of this season. Devin not standing up for Virginia when his family mentioned her age and children, was a red flag for me. I get the vibe that Virginia being a former NBA dancer/having a Phd has meant that she's dealt with many men who act like children in her past. Devin having over 100 pairs of sneakers at 30 years old is also kinda childish (Don't get me started on the leave tattoo to Kobe). Does he have any other hobbies besides basketball?
Sara is the kind of white social justice warrior that I wouldn't have the energy to deal with. If I talked about how my gay sister was important to me and you referred to her community as "those people", I'd probably say that you aren't my match and move on with my life. When it comes to standing firm, she folds faster than a cheap lawn chair in a windstorm. That's on top of him saying that he didn't know about the George Floyd killing and he doesn't vote (which I believe is a lie) In general, Ben/Sarah give me Ramses and Marissa energy.

When he kept taking shots at Laurens Dad for meeting him away from the cameras....when he won't let anyone even meet her...that drove me insane. I was happy to see Molly give him all shit when they met for the first time at that bar too...didn't expect her to be so Team Lauren and I'm guessing he didn't either. Agree with the sentiment above that the more you see of Devin, the more apparent it becomes that he's a loser. Virginia can and will do much better.
I agree with what you said about Molly. Seeing her put Dave on blast probably made an impact on him. Curious if he talks to Lauren that night if not for Molly making him feel like a loser. At the very least he apologizes to Lauren, but it only makes him look more pathetic. I think he truly does like/love Lauren but clearly isn’t allowed to stay with her according to his sister and friends. Also, Devin seems to be a bit of a strange guy. He can talk about emotions but seems incapable of having more important conversation, primarily politics. It’s clear he doesn’t share the same values as Virginia and is just scared to say it. The cast on this show claiming they “don’t follow politics” as a cover for them likely being secretly leaning one way is comical to me. Madison seems like she would be a mess to be around and/or date. I also chuckled at her passing off her psychotic breaks as “bad days” when talking with Lauren. She’s obviously gone through a lot in her life, but I think she still has a lot to work through.
I thought Virginia was a yes until I saw that her mom is a state representative. No way she marries a republican. His politics had to be that they go to a white church. All time fumble by Devin.
Dave is an example of why I wish the reunion was more “hard hitting” rather than the annoying ass host asking if people are having babies yet. Would love to see his response to any critical questions about his weird relationship with his sister and his friends. The dude went bowling and said his friends wouldn’t believe he was doing that…then brought up his friend with a bowling ball or whatever. Dude has some serious issues.

Also the irony of Sara’s lesbian sister and partner talking about not giving a shit about acceptance blah blah and then immediately when Ben leaves going in about their lack of support and acceptance of their relationship was hysterical and so hypocritical.
