Reading the book now.
Is this gonna be any good? Looks weird.
all the way in
That was a great first episode.
Can’t believe this was made when it was. Incredibly prescient.
Yeah that was fucking great
That was incredible.
1st question, what tf is this show
1st statement, i will continue watching
I liked episode 1. Mystery, Lovecraft, etc
Not surprising that something with Peele’s name attached would be well done but I wasn’t expecting that
Just finished it. Very well done.
Fun little tidbit. The alien at the beginning is Jamie Chung. She was on Real World: San Diego.
Jurnee Smollett is absurdly attractive. That is all.
I remember when she was in Eves Bayou as a kid and everyone thought she’d be nominated for an Oscar.
Never been a fan really. Probably just a burden of not seeing through the character she plays.
Didn’t know we had a thread. Really good. The James Baldwin speech during the first part of the trip was great editing
Just started watching the first episode. Looks great so far
That was awesome television. Fiancé as anxious as fuck the entire first episode lol
Lotta Leon Bridges at the end, don’t mind one bit.
The way this show uses music, speeches, poetry... man the shit just hits.
Fully in after these two episodes. Love everything about it.
I’m so confused but I love it
Honestly that episode kind of lost me right up until Omar emerged from the earth. Ended on a high note though
Honestly not sure what the hell I just watched but I’m definitely gonna keep watching.
So many questions, and so excited to continue watching
Lots of Lovecraft tie ins (obviously). I never read this particular book but I’m excited to see what other Lovecraft stories they pull from.
I saw a Rivals thread on this and it's funny how this thread the exact opposite reaction. "You are super woke, we get it!" "Stop beating me over the head!"
that was an amazing hour of tv
I love this show.
I feel like I’ve watched 3 separate season finales.
Each episode almost feels like it's only short film in ways.
Also, I'm not into horror films at all, but I enjoy just how much of that feel Peele is giving us.
I’m enjoying the show. 1,3 and 2 so far are my favorites. Enjoyed all. The ending of 2 and 3 were great, but 1 had better pacing from start to finish for my taste
Lots of historical references in last night's show. The Emmett Till appearance was excellent. Who would've thought that I'd say this about a (kind of) horror show, but this is such an important show for the times.
Did they casually make one of their characters James Baldwin?
It's incredible timing. The Chicago Historical Society just announced his childhood home is going to become a historical site
I don't know how I missed that. Good lord.
I didn’t know where they would take it after ep 2 but damn ep 3 was great. I’m all in
I didn’t think I’d like this very much. It’s not really my type of genre. Usually find horror lame and cheesy. Only gave it a chance because of Jordan Peele. Glad I did. Really like it. Smollett makes the show. Great acting.
hbo is doing another companion podcast for this show and like the others it is a great great listen
Episode 4 is up on hbo max.
show keeps delivering
Timely as fuck.
What the fuck did I just watch?!?
so another really solid episode
I do have one issue in that the editing choices made it feel a bit clunky cutting between different stories and them being shorter when they could've just stayed on one for longer and not gone back and forth so much
