I know O really thought Lane wouldn’t get a head job and he was going to land him. Once he missed on that, he just went for the big name he could get. I don’t see Ensminger getting the permanent OC gig. If Canada didn’t coach the bowl, that is who was going to. And while I actually think “Slinger” did a good job when he stepped in last year, I don’t think he wants the job.
This is totally unrelated but while reading some tweets from Glen Guilbeau about the situation, I saw him say that Aranda isn’t a good recruiter. I had no idea. Is that the feeling from most?
First rule, never read Guilbeau or Tiger Droppings. He isn’t the bagman type of recruiter. But every recruit that sits with him is blown away when he shows them the scheme. Kids want to play for him. He just isn’t the type to publicly tweet catch phrases. Definitely don’t consider him to be a liability.

I had the same initial thought as you but like someone else said it looks like the state as a whole is down in talent. Doesn’t mean this is a good class though. With that being said, Canada has not been with the program for the last three weeks. LSU internally right now is a complete shitshow and this is the first domino to fall.
They’ve had micro blows ups throughout the entire season. It also wouldn’t shock me if some internal people on O’s side pushed that Canada needs to go.

I never said RJF was going to FSU, he was penciled into Miami's class that whole recruiting cycle and then visited LSU the weekend before NSD and went there. I know Bowe committed to LSU in the summer, what does that have to do with the fact he was a heavy FSU lean and then committed to LSU out of the blue in the middle of the summer?

Everyone in Miami knows why a Norland kid committed to LSU out of the blue after Norland had been sending kids to FSU for years. RJF 100% had a Miami offer and was recruited heavily. There were grade issues that had to be worked out and most likely prep school like Hester and that was the plan that was worked out between RJF, the Carol City staff and Miami.
