His writing is incredible. Easily one of the best lyricist to come around in a long time. I don’t even like much rap. would have loved to see where his music would have gone
His cover/take of everybody is one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s the only song on the album i consistently come back to as my favorite but it rotates wrt which one I love most at any given moment and every song on the album takes a turn. It still remains my favorite album this year
Andy Thorn from Leftover Salmon covering Good News. Pretty dope https://www.jambase.com/article/leftover-salmon-andy-thorn-mac-miller-cover
Mac was on the verge of true greatness. He was creating his own little indie hip hop genre. Just sucks
His last few albums were great to me even though they were hit or miss at times but man the dedication to carving his own lane and growing as an artist was something else and to have it culminate with circles is such a bittersweet feeling
Don't think I've ever posted itt. Can't claim to be a huge Mac fan. I'm old af and my internal jukebox filled up about 2005 and I never really gave many young guys a chance. But I've listened to a lot of his stuff the last couple years. Really talented kid. Hate I didn't listen to him while he was here. Sucks we lost him so young. Too common for that to happen in that industry, for one reason or another. His music will always be there though. Just wish we could have seen what he would have grown and matured into.
I’ve probably listened to more Mac Miller than any other artist the last 3-4 years. Loved the direction his music was going. Hate that we’ll never see where it went or hear anymore classics.
I just started listening to Mac in the past 6-8 months. What a fucking G. Smart as shit, funny, talented, he had it.
I feel you. I started paying attention to him a little before his death. Always slept on him and just figured he was teen pop rapper. His writing is amazing and songs are great. One of my favorite writers of all time
Speaking of horns. I fucking love this song. Favorite song to listen to while walking the dogs or just cruising around.
Ima Beatle to these young kids But sometimes I feel like a needle to these young kids You had the world you bout to leave it to these young kids And we gonna show you what the love is
Kendrick Lamar mentioned 11 rappers on his Control verse. Cole; Meek Mill; Drake; Big K.R.I.T.; Wale; Pusha T; ASAP Rocky; Tyler, The Creator, Big Sean, Jay Elec and Mac Miller When you shuffle through his career and see how many rappers fucked with him it’s pretty crazy. One of the few people to get a Jay Elec verse on his album. Featured on a Madgibs project. Mac had a very respectable career
My roommate at one of my rehabs was schitzo affective and one of his delusions was that he wrote over 90% of Mac Miller’s songs.
I got into Mac in the last year or two. Still listen to the Tiny Desk concert regularly, 2009 is one of my favorite songs.
