So like most of you I woke up reading the feed thinking a woman beat Trumps pick for North Carolina's 11th District but upon further investigation it was in fact a dude. I did some more digging on this dude and as it turns out he, like many of the members of his party, is well off and might just be a white nationalist. You can read the bio on this guy but a TL;DR from my research is that he was going to join the Naval academy then got in an accident, became partially paralyzed, got slapped with $3MM in medical debt but is now CEO of a real estate holding company, SPQR Holdings LLC. You can find their corporate filing crap HERE. If you Zillow the address of that company you'll find a house that sold for $440,000 in 2018. Big chunk of change for a 22yo buried in debt, allegedly. It's important to realize that in this wave of emerging white nationalists have sought to tether themselves to greco-roman origins. Ben Shapino's got a big chunk of that kind of discussion in his book. Pharos project has done a good job of discussing the relationship of fascists and that time period HERE. I found this quote from a slate article interesting: Spoiler: here's a photo of the candidate If you'll notice in the picture, there's a warrior helmet (don't @ me on the greek city state it came from; it doesn't matter) that you can find associated with the SPQR crap. I want to know where the money came from to go from -3MM to being CEO of a holding company. Its probably just some investors So this dude is now the face of the GOPs anti-healthcare movement and he's younger than AOC. Dems got owned yet again. TL;DR I'm pretty sure the dude that upended Trumps pick for NC-11th is probably worse than Trump's pick. He's totally normal and wants you to have choices for healthcare, not actual healthcare.
