My ND recruiting week was a success. Two 5-stars, 2 4-star and 2 3-star (punter/local speed back) commits from last week giving me the top class so far. Also have 5 or 6 4-star soft commits going. Good times.
My recruiting is going pretty shitty. I had about 90% of my board in last week for the LSU rivalry game, and I got ONE commitment… from a KICKER. Not looking good.
What does everyone think about a new rule for next year where everyone has one "rematch" a year? Basically, you lose, you can call rematch and then it's a 2 out of 3 series for the win. You only get 1 per year. Just an idea that sprung from the game between Powe and I. Great game that we both enjoyed and wouldn't mind doing again. Also helps if/when you have those complete fluke games where EA decides one team is going to win and there's nothing the other team can do about it.
I'm fine with it. I guess in all reality I should be praying that you pull off the upset so that I can still attempt to win the division But I just don't think it's going to happen and the recruiting class I'm pulling in
Also, does anyone have an issue with 2 guys doing this at any time if they want to? I mean, it's a game, and a lot of us enjoy playing each other. If it's not holding up the league, I don't see any issue with 2 guys playing a 2 out of 3. Only once would be forced, but if a couple guys want to do it for fun, is that ok?
What if user A plays user B and user A loses...they they call for a rematch and win the series 2-1. Then, user B calls for a rematch... ???
hahhaaha, didn't want to start a new thread and haven't tried this yet but. Apparently there is a glitch in the game with #26 Chris Maxwell for Marshall. When you put him in the game he looks like this. I'm gonna have to check this out some time.
If you're going either flats with the HB or TE slant, going for it on 4th up by 4 in the first half, just play the fucking computer. Don't waste my time. Dude has thrown to Halfbacks at least 10+ times now. It's cheesy as shit. You have Texas, don't need to run that shit.
As of right now, there are 3:47 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. The score is 35-10 Texas. My starting HB has 4 receptions and my 2nd string HB has 2. Total is six receptions. Also, my TE has 4 receptions. I went for it on 4th and 2 because it was on the inch line and a FG would have been pretty difficult to kick from there. NOTE: He just quit. :jimhusker:
Just finish it. Not worth the time to even play it. Run tons of sim leagues, I play straight up. Would rather not play against that ... so just play the CPU in the future when we have a game. Your HB reception totals on the year is 50+ now, no one else in the league is even close to half of that.
Maybe. But don't bitch about it in our game when I showed you the stats for the time you quit. I run the Georgia offense, which throws to the HB more often than most programs. Plus, I like having a shotgun set in which I have a HB in each flat. I like being able to know that if a blitz is coming from a corner or an outside linebacker, I have the option to dump it off to one of those guys for a solid gain. If that is cheesing, I apologize and will drop out of the league right now.
By the way, Miami's HB, Graig Cooper, has 40 receptions on the season. Evan Royster at Penn State has 28. Baron Batch at Texas Tech has 34. Vondrell McGee for my team only has 26. The other HB that I sub in has 23. I'm just saying...if you want to bitch, it sure would be nice for you to look at the other teams statistics too...not just the one you bitched out and quit on.
Powe 25-19 I believe. They might test out a rematch thing where it is best of 3. But I'm not sure if they've decided yet. DBL was asking people if they wanted to implement a 1 rematch per year thing. This is my opinion on it The team that loses can ask for a rematch (you get one per year) and the winning team can say no to your rematch request. Also I feel if you lose by 21+ you should not be able to ask for a rematch. I also think the SECCG or National Championship are games that should be off limits from a rematch. That is what I would suggest if we did implement the rematch games.
I will just go ahead and tell you...if I beat you and you ask for a rematch, I will not give you one. What is the winner's motivation to take their chances when they don't have to? Surely if we do this, it will be a mandatory rule. Also, I think the rematch should only be applicable if you lose by fourteen. Twenty-one is too much, in my opinion.
Well maybe we can do something like you can refuse 1 rematch per year as well as getting 1 rematch All I know is if I run the table and it's the last game of the year and I win and then someone asks for a rematch there is no way in hell I'm giving it to them. and I agree on the 14+ point loss you can't ask for a rematch.
Yea, there is just no reason to accept a rematch besides wanting to prove once and for all you are better than the opponent...which as much as I like video games, doesn't mean shit to me.
Texas Tech has been on auto forever, played PSU and he did it maybe twice which was fine. No idea on Miami, haven't played them. You have 21 more plus whatever from today (which I am sure would have been more had I kept playing) than Royster. How is that somehow impressive? Check the teams that play actual ball. Ingram has 8, Minor has 9, McKnight has 8 ... you're comparing yourself against 3 other guys that are high in that category, not against the majority. You play cheese ball on O, it's fine, just don't waste my time with it. Call it bitching out, I went out and did something worthwhile for a bit before work instead of getting frustrated playing against that. I don't care if you stay in the league and no problems with you personally at all, but I won't play you again. Just sim it for next year or play the CPU.
DBL has been called out for being the biggest cheese in the league because of the way he throws to JULIO. And those teams also run a completely different offense than I do. The entire fucking cheese argument is stupid. Unless two people play the exact same type of ball, they are not going to get along with the definition of "cheesing". I think the rules we are supposed to be abiding by need to be revised greatly. I have nothing against you either. I just get tired of people saying other people's game play is bullshit when we all have shit we think is ok and shit we think is nonsense.
Understandable. FWIW, you are good on the sticks, probably would have lost anyway, but here's my deal with this game. The flats are bullshit because EA fucked up the cameras again and you can't see outside of the hashes which means you are relying on the CPU or just taking a blind stab in the dark and sitting in a short zone hoping the CB doesn't get caught on the flag route. This is the same reason no one has completed an out route that isn't on a designed roll out to the sideline in any game I have played this year. Screens are fine, but again, lack of vision makes them worthless or huge gains. The Michigan offense runs 10+ HB/WR screens a game, but I don't do it because it's a talentless play. I will do 1 every other game or something like that maybe. Take jorts for instance, he could be murdering people with 99 speed Demps and Tebow, but he doesn't run it constantly because it's easy as hell to do. It's a 'to each their own', but when an A+ team is running the cheap stuff based on screen vision, it really isn't fun to play against because it's pretty much unstoppable unless you want to sit in quarters all day which I have a problem with. And just to put it rather bluntly, you'd have been booted from any hardcore sim leagues for the RB stuff, especially using Texas. If we're not a sim league, fuck it, let's open it up and do whatever, but if we're half and half, it gets gay. Also, just kick the fucking ball next time, it's 4th and 2 from the 26 in the first half, have some respect for the person you're playing in situations like that, I was in field goal zone d just assuming that's how we do it.
Also, if you want to attempt to play a little more realistic later tonight, I am down. If that result sticks, I will probably drop league until some rules get defined.
We'll work on some concrete rules. Nobody should be running the same route 10 times a game, and RB to the flats is the same route.
Yep. Just wait until next year, will mean more. We start doing best of 3's, it will take forever to advance. You guys should just play again and broadcast it if you want, nothing to do with the dynasty, but would be fun anyway.
I wasn't completely for the rematch idea and it looks as if it shouldn't be a go anyways. Was just stating criteria if it ever did happen. But I agree it would take forever because everyone would be asking for rematches and best of 3 series would be ridiculous and take too long.

Their D is filthy too though. Spikes locks anything up the middle, and their safties and CB are stout. on a side note, i have to agree with Cza on the throws to the RB, while throwing to the HB is fine, abusing it is cheese. same way that running 10 slants a game is cheese. If a user plays man, and even spreads their LBs out so they are in good position, they still can't cover the flat pass this is my biggest complaint in the game
