1st HR: Upper deck blast to Left Center 2nd HR: 3rd Deck Absolutely no doubt on either of them. From last week, just in case people think he can't play D: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/29387502/v316475183/seamin-sano-makes-a-diving-stop-to-rob-gutierrez
Alex Reyes threw 10 Ks over 6 IP for Springfield tonight. Only allowed 1 H and 1 BB. Operated in mid-90s (highest: 99 mph). Faced a lineup with top Texas prospects Mazara and Brinson.
@PadresCentral: Minor #Padres: In 10 games at AAA-El Paso, RF Hunter Renfroe is hitting .341 (14-for-41) with four HRs and 11 RBIs with .707 slugging pct.
AJ Reed is raking in AA .355/.422/.605. Wonder if the Astros are going to bring him up for playoff run. Carter is hitting .183 and Reed is clearly the future there.
In a deep SP heavy FBB league, but this is still relevant. Basically I make a list with the top SP prospects and where they are at with their innings. More or less, if I should waste a move, stash, or just completely ignore a guy. These are not in any rank or order, just informational. If you don't see a guy he was under 75 innings last year. Berrios 166 (not sure what else they need him to work on) Urias 76 (They fixed his eye last year which kept the innings down, this is also the reason I cut off at 75) Giolito 117 (Won't go over 140 with TJ progression) Glasnow 109 (Coming off 140 in 14 and 15, DL ankle injury did that; I would think he would have been called up last year had that not happened) Reyes 115 (It's the Cards so who knows what they will do with him) de Leon 114 (Dodgers and struggled a bit in AA so I assume it's another year to stretch out his arm) Stephenson 134 (About that two years running. Has some control issues but can't imagine they won't give him a shot) Appel (Hated him since he shit on the Bucs, glad he ended up on the worst team in the league, unfortunately, that's my team; arms stretched out, he just sucks) Snell 112 (It's the Rays, he's ready, who the fuck knows?) Garrett (Reds, longshot since he hasn't made it to AA; however for all intensive MLB prospect purposes his arm is stretched out so if he tears up AA, maybe) Manaea 100 (A's definitely won't be up) I realize that I am not encompassing organizational depth but it's only January 5th, I'll get there. Need to find my spreadsheet from last season but if you know some, please chime in. If not, I will post them if anyone is interested.
Appel was such a garbage pick at the time and is even worse now that Bryant is going to be a star. Hell even Gray is already up with the Rockies. The fact that we got more than a hot pocket for Appel is astounding.
Wow, he is a pretty cool story, never knew he pitched as I don't follow college at all. Not exactly the same, but kind of reminds me of Goldy when he was a prospect. Very little fanfare because he was pigeon holed into first but all he did was hit and hit and hit. Seems like this is the same trajectory mashed AA. Obviously he doesn't need to be Goldy per se, but average with moderate power would do wonders in that line up IMO. Do you think he starts the year up or they get some Morse or something to bridge the time?
Is anyone a Perfect Game premium subscriber? This kid goes to my old high school and I played with his oldest brother (who sucked). http://www.perfectgame.org/Players/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=380411 I just want to know his national and state rank. I had no idea he was this good. I'm going to watch him pitch Friday.
teel do you have a list of where young Mets legit prospects are playing, or know anyone worth watching playing in Columbia?
Just checked their roster and P Chase Ingram, 1B Dash Winningham, 3B David Thompson and OF Ivan Wilson are probably the top prospects on that team. That Fireflies gear looks pretty sweet btw.
Wilson and Thompson both had big nights tonight. Thompson has been an absolute monster so far this year
Drafted after his junior year at Miami in the fourth round last year and turns 23 in 4 months he better be destroying low-a Sally league. Any idea why he didn't start at St Lucie, teel ?
They usually start draft picks in the summer in short season Brooklyn and only the special ones like Conforto jump straight to St Lucie to start their first full season. Brooklyn is an impossible place to hit too, right next to the ocean with crazy wind so I wouldn't be surprised if they start certain guys in low A for confidence reasons.
Word. Starting at short season makes sense after last June draft. I just don't get why he wasn't at high-A to start this year.
Rockies of David Dahl and Rameil Tapia could be September call ups once Colorado is 25 games out and room is created by trade or injury P Jeff Hoffman up by June 1 when Rockies are 11 games out. C Murphy up as soon as Hundley is traded. long shot is Ryan McMahon to play 1b in September but I think this is possible .
Supposedly he's looked a lot better the last few weeks. Plus he's a huge lefty with ridiculous stuff.
Can anyone in here give me a rundown on Tyler Glasnow and tell me why he isn't in the Pirates rotation other than Super 2 arbitration?
You pretty much nailed it. Does not pass the sniff test. Only thing I can add is that they are banking on Searage to turn shit into gold. Which he has, to his credit. With that being said, if you produce something out of your system that is worth anything you sign him through the arb years so I still don't get why you fuck with the guy in the first place.
I'm not even a Pirates fan but saw him pitch the other day in Indianapolis and he was dominate. My first thought was this guy is better than Jonathan fucking Niese. Can't wait to see him in the show soon.
Bob Nightengale ✔@BNightengale Veteran scouts are blown away by #Rangers farm system, counting 16 legitimate prospects, easily the most in#MLB,giving them ammo for trades interesting
lol at not wanting Lewis Brinson. Guy I think has a higher ceiling than Mazara and if you are just looking at his 2016 line you are going to be missing a lot.
I want a Gomez deal for Lucroy meaning more than one guy and I would really prefer a pitcher as the headliner and not another outfielder especially with Oddibe Jr in the fold.
