Isn't it? You complained that if you don't beat Liverpool in a week+ that the league is over. I countered by pointing out that you're just 4 points off with 5 months and 18 league matches still yet to go. 54 points remaining available makes overcoming such a meniale deficit very achievable. Not only is that salient, it's quite relevant to what you just said.
Really hope the City players have the same mentality and quit like Tobias did. We could win this thing if they give up.
thanks! liverpool isn’t dropping 4 (or even worse 7) points with us dropping nothing (and no head to head to matches left). they’re too good for that. they’ve only dropped 6 overall to this point, 2 of which was to city thinking they are the clear and overwhelming favorites with no points gained 1/3 is not only a reasonable take...its the correct take. good look siding with our most mentally deranged poster tho
Thinking Liverpool is "the clear and overwhelming favorite" (which itself is debatable - the favorite? You could argue that. But "overwhelming"?) is a far cry from pronouncing the season over on December 22nd
The defeatism here is embarrassing. This team will be fine. There's a lot of football left to be played.
Relax, I’m just humoring Tobias. I told him when we texted during the game we were fine still. 2011-12 we were 8 points back in April, this is nothing
I don’t know if I’d say that and I will admit to being nervous about you guys but I certainly wouldn’t write anything off even if we lose on 1/3 (hopefully worst case there is a draw but Liverpool has been better than anyone H2H recently)
You guys should have beaten us at Anfield. Think it’s safe to say y’all win at the Etihad. We just do not have the depth you guys have.
I would concede being the favorite at that point, especially if you guys drop points against Arsenal Either way this year should be a fun race all the way through
Last year City's biggest advantage over Liverpool was David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne as creators in the midfield and overall depth. Which is why they raced away at the start of last season from everyone. After January when we brought in VVD and Ox and Robertson learned the system and came into form, Karius was the only real liability. I thought post Tottenham Lovren played well, but Gomez is better. Fabinho is starting to show that he is clearly a massive upgrade on Henderson. Keita shows flashes of what I hope he will be. I think that if Pep and Kloop both decided to go hell for leather against each other City could win 4-0 or Liverpool could win 4-0.
Would really love a clean sheet today. Tired of holding my breath whenever possession is in our end. Not looking sharp early.
i would love to get an apology from a few people that posted on this page about what i said but i am guessing not
While today wasn’t great on the pitch, I am doing Christmas with my mom and brother today and my brother got me a City flag for my house. First sports flag I’ve got. Perfect
Very up and down half and fortunate on the whole sequence from the no pen call to the OG but a 2 goal lead is a 2 goal lead
