Fuck that. I would think most neutrals at this point (aside from Everton/United supporters) would be for Liverpool over seeing Bayern or Real win it.
Why? Curious why a City fan would, I get the rivalry with United/Everton but not City. I'll be happy for James Milner
i was so happy to get away but then you moved to greenville and decreased the distance too much for my liking
I guess it’s like pulling for teams in your conference in football I hate all teams that play us and especially if they have embarrassed us, it makes me hate them more
yeah that and i dont really want this 2017-2018 campaign to be about city winning the title AND liverpool winning champions league. i want only us to have the spotlight
Eh I don't think it makes us look any better to have a club in league win the UCL but I view them the lesser of evils. You'll regret rooting for Bayern over them when Bayern comes calling for Sane
Exactly We had maybe the best premier league team ever and it’ll definitely be overshadowed by Liverpool
I mean no matter what happens in the UCL moving forward it doesn't change what we did in league or the fact that when at even strength they absolutely destroyed us this season. 9-4. We killed them when they were down a man all match but at even strength they owned us. It's not like them losing in the final or semis will change that
Man it sure sucked how no one cared we won the title in 11-12 because Chelsea won the Championship League
with that reasoning, i dont think you can consider the 2nd leg us playing at "full strength" considering we didnt play anything close to a normal style because we had to sell out completely for goals. they dominated us in one game, we dominated in another albeit a man down, played them even once and then because of GD didn't really play them normally in the last match. such is the nature of goal differential that line of thinking makes sense in my head
i don't think people will not care about us winning it this year just like people didnt write off us winning in 2012 just because of chelsea. i just would rather us be the only team in our league to win one of the two biggest titles and not share any spotlight with anyone else because i am selfish
its not gonna be the end of the world if liverpool wins it all. i just would rather a team that we don't directly compete with for 38 matches a season win it instead would prefer an exciting final above all else tbh
That makes no sense to me. Even strength is 11 vs 11, getting our asses kicked in the first leg doesn’t make the 2nd leg any less even strength
Yeah, those two and City are in a different league than Liverpool with regards to buying/spending power. I would think it would be a weird tug-of-war for a City fan because you don't want Liverpool winning because they are a rival, to an extent, but you also don't want Bayern or Real winning since you battle with them in the transfer market more consistently.
