Yeah no doubt it just seems like we have seem different variations of this tweet everyday for the last month or so
Yeah I hoped he would be done sooner though if it falls through I’m not concerned Dealing with Napoli for Jorginho was always going to be a pain, just look at Chelsea and Sarri
i guess patrick roberts is going to leicester also sad to see all the youth broz go, hopefully we have some buyback clauses in
Also Sterling has been waaaaaaay better in the WC than Bernardo. I feel like I should acknowledge that to appease you guys
He’s been the most dangerous attacker from the run of play for England. I’ll admit he does a lot of that for City as well, the finishing isn’t nearly as frustrating in an England shirt. Was really disappointed with Bernardo’s tournament
So apparently as part of becoming an official supporters group, MCFC sent an autographed KDB jersey. That’s pretty awesome. Not sure how many members we have but think my odds are 100:1 at worst
I’m not sure what our post Fernandinho plans are at DM. He was so fantastic this season and he allows so much else to happen but he’s also 33 and Fred is at United and it’s sounding bad on Jorginho with Chelsea hijacking that deal (a real concern if they do hire Sarri). Not crazy to think Dinho could fall off immediately. I suppose after the season Delph had at LB that we could feel like he could be a temporary replacement. I’d guess Gündogan starts the season in that spot with both Dinho and Delph having longer runs in the WC even if bench guys
So are we expecting Bernardo to play centrally for the short term future? Just trying to think about minutes. Sterling was around 3100 minutes between EPL and UCL. Sané 3100. Bernardo 2100. David was around 2850. KDB 3750. Dinho 3550. Gündogan 2000. Agüero 2400. Jesus 2100. Yaya was only around 500 but that is now 500 CM/DM to go around.
If we make at least UCL QF then we are looking at around 4100 minutes per position and we will most likely be looking at a 4 man back line so for the midfield/wingers/attackers we have about 24,840 minutes to go around. I’d expect to see decreases in numbers for Dinho and Silva with KDB playing that many minutes again being unlikely. If we assume that the STs, Gündogan and Bernardo play similar numbers then drop Silva and Dinho to 2500, Sané/Sterling down to 2800 and KDB to 3000 then I think that puts around 6700 minutes to split up for Bernardo, Mahrez, Gündogan, Delph and any youth midfielders
yeah it'll be interesting to see how much Mahrez plays I think with Pep he will be better than Sterling/Sane, considering he's in the peak of his career he would have been nice to have in last year's CL
I think best lineup is ————————-Agüero/Jesus Sané————Silva————-KDB———-Mahrez ——— ————-Fernandinho Mendy———-Stones——Otamendi——-Walker Sterling can rotate both of those outside spots (or up top if injuries, KDB could also false 9) Bernardo could rotate with Silva, KDB and Mahrez Gündogan I think could rotate all 3 middle spots. Delph is cover there as well. I do wonder if they’ll want to find him minutes for how good he was at LB last year, or maybe he’s just our #2 LB than can also play DM/CM I think that is a really strong starting XI while also allowing us to rotate in whichever isn’t our #1 ST, Sterling and Gündogan without any dropoff. I think there’s some dropoff to varying degrees when we are rotating Delph, Kompany, Bernardo and Danilo.
While we certainly need a replacement for Dinho, I don’t see where there would’ve been minutes for both Jorginho and Gündogan. Plus there would’ve been very little to no minutes for Foden and Garcia. Keeping him away from Chelsea would’ve been nice though. Hopefully we can get a DM next Summer to replace Dinho as he will be 34 then.
Mendy sliding around in the wet grass towards the media sending waves of water at them while holding the World Cup
i'm so pumped to see what Pep does with Mahrez guy won player of the year with Leicester, imagine how awesome Pep will have him playing he might be the move for me for jerseys this season
who all is expected to play? assuming sane and mahrez at least either way i am just excited to be able to watch city again
also glad city was close last year bc we got to see essentially the full roster. understandable with the world cup but feel lucky to see last year’s squad
Yep. That’s why I made sure to go last year as well. Even years will have either Euros or World Cup keeping guys out.
Transfer window update: City has completed the transfer from Womb FC of baby Aria yesterday afternoon.
I’m getting pretty excited about Claudio Gomes. Hopefully he gets to start vs Lividpool Based on Peps comments he seems to be crushing it in training https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ma.../man-city-transfer-claudio-gomes-14940663.amp
