I classify all dead weight the same. Lingard is a fine squad player, but he's 27 now and his career trajectory is heading in the wrong direction. I think a move away would be best for both him and Pereira.
Lingard has had a lot of personal issues. Mother is ill, him now taking care of two younger siblings plus his baby, grandfather prostrate cancer so he’s had a lot on his plate this past season.
Since the goal or assist thing was such a big deal with Lingard why he doesn’t get credit for an assist on Rashford’s goal against Tottenham is a bit confusing
I'm not necessarily against it. Just think he's surplus to requirements though. Especially if we sign another attacking mid. I feel like he would be better served finding more first team minutes at another club.
I can barely remember conversations I had yesterday. I just don't see where he gets any significant minutes.
Still getting sold imo. He's actually played well enough to be worth something and CB's are always in demand. Should get a decent fee for him.
last night I watched Tottenham from December and tonight I've watched Brighton from November the week before. My word at some of the collusions Rashford had in those two matches. He went down once in Brighton on a collision that looked innocuous but was in clear pain. I assume he played injured from then till January Wolves match. And oh boy we need the Daniel James from that match back, he was setting Rashford up on a tee. And lol Varchester United but Martial shot literally saved by non keeper with hands.....no VAR blah blah /freakrant
Bailly/Lindelof sounds like a disaster and Mengi probably isn't ready to be thrown to the wolves just yet. Phil Jones should definitely be starting with a 5 goal advantage tho.
I was wondering what those were...as if he might be out of contract or something and playing in unbranded boots.
Even with his loan ended at Roma/returned to united, Smalling is ineligible to play in the remainder of the Europa league. I wonder if there is any other reason than 'pettiness' for United to recall him. Not to say that we needed him, but found the move interesting, to take him out of the Roma squad making a deep run...
I mean we would have had to cut a new deal with them. His loan ended, it’s a huge liability/asset value issue if he plays and gets injured etc. Not saying a new deal couldn’t have been struck of course
