He helped the Glazers take over the club. In spite of his inadequacies in the transfer market, Ed is a commercial and marketing genius. All the Glazers care about is United's stock price and whether or not the club turn a profit. Woodward's power and control isn't going to decrease as long as those two things remain in good order.
Got 10/11 right. Tuanzebe on the bench over Jones and Smalling is a pleasant surprise. I don't rate Andreas much at all tbh but hopefully he will prove me wrong.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow on Tuan over Smalling Jones Andreas out there doesn’t make much sense to me after preseason but what do I know
I get the feeling this game will go the way of Pogba. If he doesn't give a shit, the attack is muted and we don't score today with the hope the defense holds. If he plays hard and presses, we win.
HT review De Gea - mi capitán Slab ‘ead - looks like he’s been here for years AWB - excellent Pogba - woulda coulda shoulda be the best in the world Lingard / Pereria - Did they even leave the dressing room? Martial / Rashford - I wish they were as good as they could be
Absolute dream start and I don't think anyone could have predicted it. Need to keep it in perspective though because we could have easily conceded a couple in the first half. AWB and Maguire were superb. Hugely important for Rashford and Martial to get on the score sheet right away and for Paul to be as influential as he was in the 2nd half. Those 3 will determine the outcome of this season. Looked like AWB picked up a knock right at the end. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
Seems so far money well spent, AWB and Maguire. If only we had brought in one more, instead of having to play pereira or lingard.
I’m hoping they’ve stabilized the back and next summer they moving to replacing Pogba and strengthening midfield. McSauce seems to be progressing so that’s good. And hopefully we get Lingard of two years ago
I feel like Lingard's development has been hurt the most by United lacking a proper right wing player. He's far better playing in a central role but gets pushed out wide too often due to the lack of depth. Lingard is a decent player and has a few more prime years left, but I'm not sure we will ever see how good he can be unless the club address the problem on the right and he gets a consistent run of games through the middle.
