If Ole makes up an 8 point gap and gets us into the top 4 with this style of play then you have to keep him. That's the risk you run when you appoint an incredibly popular club figure as caretaker. Finish 5th/6th and Ed can go for Poch. If we don't slip up before then, the first real test for OGS is @Spurs on the 13th.
I didn't get to watch at all today but was following on my phone. I was so fucking aggravated at Bailly taking that red (which was completely careless and unnecessary now that I've seen it) because this now means we're going to miss having him against Spurs and I'm sure it will be Phil Jones who has to fill the void.
You can say it was Cardiff, Huddersfield and Bournemouth but Jose was losing to Brighton and West Ham while tying Wolves
Made up 5 points on 4th place in 4 matches under Ole. 6 points outside of top 4 now and only 3 points off of 5th place.
All the pain and embarrassment of the last 4 years could have been avoided if Joe was doing Ed's job.
I'm not sure how much longer the honeymoon will last but Ole is such a breath of fresh air Ole: “This transfer window has probably been planned since the summer and year before, the structure is phenomenal. I’m sure they’ve got their targets, I’m here to voice my opinion on that and I’m sure we’ll sit down, me and Ed if we’ve got anything in the pipeline.”
He has come in and done everything right. He really has. Positivity, attacking football. I don't know if he really does deserve the job, I still think it is too big for him and would rather have Poch even if Solksjaer gets up 4th. But we have a reason to enjoy games now. Pogba and Rashford on fire. Ole will always be loved.
I don't really agree with any of this. Is it because he doesn't have experience? I don't really understand the fascination with Poch? I'm sure he is great and talented but some of his quotes are as piss mouth as Mourinho. Poch was basically acting as if the FA Cup wasn't worth winning while Ole was suggesting United should win everything it competes for. I understand everything I'm saying is a bit naive nor am I saying Ole should %100 be the guy.
It's kind of funny that, through doing the right thing and sacking Mourinho, Woodward has kind of backed himself into a corner. Ole is an immensely popular figure at the club. The way that he has started with the attractive attacking style of play will make him tough to get rid of if he keeps it up. If Ole gets us into the top 4, there will be a ton of pressure on Ed to make him the permanent manager. Even more if we get by PSG in the Champions League. Ed has to get this hire right though so I think he will make a run at Poch anyway. This will be the 4th manager under his watch and none have made to the end of year 3.
I'm ok with drawing Arsenal in RD 4. It'll allow OGS to start Alexis and he'll pop off at the Emirates.
Hey I want City to lose this round too. I’ll be in England and if both are out of the FA Cup, the derby at OT is the same weekend as the QF. Next best would be FA Cup derby at Etihad
Ole certainly should be preferred to this result, though I credit them for considering Marcus and Jesse
