Trump is a child that thinks state secrets are cool and he wants to share. It’s not always some crazy espionage ring he’s running. This is just as likely the same deal as when he tweeted out the satellite imagery of the Iran missile test explosion. He knows it’s wrong, but probably not the severity, but he just thinks the pictures are cool and wanted to keep them.
I kind of assumed he kept these documents because they have cool President Trump watermarks that he can show off to South FL divorce lawyers and car dealership owners. He is the kind of person that really likes trinkets and toys that make him look important.
He was the one with the clearance to acquire them and they were kept at his residence. It does not matter if his mobile dog washer was the one that “did the deal” imo. *this is all theoretical at this point.
He’s a huge idiot who just did things for reasons because he thinks he can do whatever the fuck he wants in life without repercussion. Which is mostly true
Usually they outsource the talking points. Bad info is leaked. Internet comes up with some bizarre justification. That conspiracy is now Republican orthodoxy. Repeat.
To be clear I could see him showing lots of people nuclear secrets because he thinks it’s badass to have them and he doesn’t care about security clearances. Like a grand plan to sell them? Idk man he might have but that seems a lot more capable than he usually is
I get that his attorneys are not always high quality and they may have been preoccupied with other matters but there is a certain intent associated with refusing to handover documents that the head of counterintelligence at a law enforcement agency has subpoenaed from you, even after you’ve handed over 15 boxes of documents you also weren’t supposed to have, which appears to waive the white flag on the “it’s my right to have them” argument. Agree that isn’t evidence that he is selling the information, but it’s certainly indicative of willful defiance of the law.
That’s not it. More, Occam’s razor. One, these being nuclear secrets is still speculation until confirmed. Two, speculation on top of speculation is that he sold them. These were mostly boxes in a storage closet. Three, he was pretty incompetent as a president, even in his coup attempt. Four, he’s never once faced a real consequence for criminal action in his entire life.
My position is that yeah he's gotten away with a lot of stuff in his life but also there's a limit that that exists that he would no longer get out unscathed if he went beyond it. I'm suggest having nuclear secrets for ??? at MAL might be above that threshold. I guess you could say I still have some faith in society.
Ocean’s 14 at Mar a Lago but instead of an elaborate heist it’s Clooney bringing Trump a Wendy’s $5 biggie bag in exchange for opening up the safe
yeah I’m not defending his illegality. I’m just not ready to jump to he’s running a multi billion dollar espionage/extortion ring by trading Iranian nuclear secrets to the saudis and he kept the evidence in a coat closet behind a padlock in Mar a lago.
I’ll believe it when it happens. They have until 3:00 to go before the judge. And it’s not beyond him to back out at the last minute claiming that the radical left deep state pulled a dirty trick so now he can’t let the warrant get released.
Speculation, but our intel agencies may have picked up chatter/traffic referring to the Trump Trove and advised the DOJ/FBI the importance of getting the material out of his hands
I’ve been thinking about that. They could have heard certain things through sources that only specific people should have access to/know about.
Kind of a canary trap, with a potential target of one. Never underestimate our ability to eavesdrop on our friends and foes
trump’s team doesn’t get to decide whether the docs get released - they can object but that doesn’t mean the judge will agree
My sincere hope is that the file is unsealed at 3:00 EST and by 6:00 EST we have Don Jr. driving Trump at 90 miles an hour down the interstate in a white Ford Bronco trying to get back to Mar A Lago to hold out. Lots of 70 year olds in golf carts line the interstate, cheering them on.
Yeah, I’m guessing he is supporting the release because he can’t stop it and doesn’t want to look like the weak bitch he is.
Re the ‘he’s too stupid defense’ used to lean in that direction till it was revealed how planned Jan 6 was
This ends with his attorneys fighting the release in private but being overruled due to his public statements, doesn't it?
