I think he’s a good candidate
I actually would want him. Exactly the kind of outside the box guy we should be looking at.
Richt walked away with no severance package at all. Holy smokes. That Mario buyout is a much smaller issue now if that’s really the clear cut #1 dude
mario just told the players he is coming back
Uh oh just like Taggart
taggart never said that, he was always noncommittal. cristobal told the team that he signed a contract with UO and will be announced tonight or tomorrow.
He’s top of our list
Imagine if Lebron was on Miami
A first time HC? Yes please
lets get these contracts signed
Luther Campbell HC. Nevin Shapiro OC
Didn't he say something like "it's my dream job and I have to think about it" ?
Yeah he was up front about it which basically meant he was leaving
Does Rex have an AFC East coaching fetish?
Cosby is in jail, i think they're good.
Mario Manuel Cristobal (born September 24, 1970) is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at the University of Oregon and has recently laughed off becoming head coach at a lesser program in Miami.
Did no one watch Manny Diaz's defense against a bad Wisconsin team?
That was quick
cosby sending some crew after richt and blake james as we speak
Like I said, wasn’t worried.
This is huge for Manny Machado and all the other 305 Manny’s
never doubted y’all
They were #7 in the country per multiple advanced stats metrics. Basing an opinion on meaningless bowl game is foolish.
The final decommit of the Mark Richt era was.......Mark Richt.
After stating that he knew changes needed to be made with his offense, Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Richt retired over an apparent power struggle with Athletic Director Blake James in regards to potential staff changes.
The Miami Board of Trustees and James were reportedly urging if not demanding Mark Richt to give up play calling, hire a new Offensive Coordinator and a new Quarterbacks Coach. Richt was not ready to do that and chose to retire instead.
Richt began calling plays again when he was hired by James for the 2016 season. He had given up play calling as the Head Coach at Georgia after their Board of Trustees made similar demands to Richt. Loyalty and stubbornness have been attributes attributed to Richt. Those were probably his strengths and downfall.
Richt did not want to fire Offensive Coordinator and Running Backs Coach Thomas Brown who played for him at Georgia and his son Jon who is the Quarterbacks Coach. Appearing on the Donno and Friedo Show on WQAM The Athletic’s Hurricanes beat writer Manny Navarro confirmed the likelihood of the power struggle.
“Confirmed likelihood of power struggle” by shitty beat writer = confirmed power struggle by coach hmself
That’s awesome journalism
I assume Mark’s coverage will mostly consist of “never heard of this guy” as ESPN breaks down the top 200.
Think ESPN has miami’s class in the 30’s so I doubt there is much attention paid to the mess he left
But it would be great if they did ask him about it
More like "oh yeah i forgot to call that guy back what happened to him"
You know our rank
Not on ESPN
Now on 247 I’m well aware
Why the fuck is UM's spring game Orlando
Their first game of the year is in Orlando.
Couldn’t do it at hard rock stadium due to a Rolling Stones concert which has since been cancelled
Because Miami fans deserve the best. And everyone knows Florida's best college football team is in Orlando.
That's...quite a statement. Glad he's ok.
Love that response from Richt. Good dude, glad he survived it
Glad he's ok. Always liked Richt. Wonder if health concerns were part of the reason he kinda checked out and retired last year.
Word must have gotten to him that Noles247 reporters are tossing his name out to replace Willie
Can you at least wait a few hours for this type of unwitty reply?
