I always wonder with people who smoke cigarettes if they notice how in every TV show/movie that literally every disgusting, trashy character smokes. Do people who smoke think they are doing something trashy or just something incredibly stupid? I still consider smoking to be the #1 marker of a trashy person.
Rust was cool but definitely had some trashy tendencies. I guess not everyone who smokes is trash, but there's never been a trashy person who didn't smoke. I just honestly wonder if people who smoke pick up on the fact that writers and directors always use cigarettes to underscore trashy characters. I'm talking modern depictions and not older time periods where everyone smoked like Mad Men or basically any shows that go up to the 70s/80s.
people who wash their cars at home and leave the hose running the entire time and allow all those cleaning products to drain into the ground hopefully they're using eco-friendly cleaning products if they exist

as a kid I had to wash my dads car at home but he’d park it on the lawn and I had a bucket. I wouldn’t leave the water running.
We are same. I'd hose the soap off with water afterwards obviously. Now my vehicle is washed wherever the good lord decides to send rain (Yes I'm a trashy person)

Yeah it’s not like I really liked smoking cigarettes (unless I’m drunk) but it I was addicted to the nicotine. My car to and from work/school was where I’d usually smoke with the window down.
It’s crazy how much things have changed wrt smoking. I remember in college in the early 00s, you walk out of class and everyone’s outside the building ripping cigs
My parents went to college in the 80s and told me that nextt to the door of the big lecture halls was a stack of ashtrays you could take to your seat and smoke during lecture. That is wild to think about now
That’s when I was in college as well and everybody smoked. There were a few of my friends that didn’t but most people would at least bum one if you had it especially at a party or bar.
Only times you see smoking on campus now: Custodians Chinese kids Skiied up people outside the library during exam week
Yeah. The frat kids get one and pass it around. Some gray area on rules still so some people hit them inside

There’s a statue of a professor that the building is named after and if you look you can see a pack of cigs in his jacket pocket because he was a notorious chain smoker. When the school did away with smoking in classroom, they said he would still smoke like normal and just put the cigs out on the no smoking sign in the room.
Chinese dudes in particular. I see maintenance and grounds crew folks burning cigs every once in a while. But every single day (in normal times) you see groups of Chinese dudes hanging around smoking cigs. So much for being a tobacco free campus I see tons of people smoking bowls outside dorms, which is awesome
$200 Adidas shoes and Supreme (?) sweatshirts with 2019 Audis and BMWs. They're the lifeblood of my school lol
Cigs were huge at Miami back in 2008, feel like everyone picked up smoking for atleast a year during college. Add in rampant anxiety problems, cocaine abuse, introduction of adderall, bulimia, anorexia, original four loko, and man that was a stew for cig abuse
When I was in college cigs were $3 a pack and could often be found in buy one get one free promotions. Also handed out free at college bars by cig promoters
Over the course of a few days I was surprised by how many girls were using juuls. They've certainly been effective advertising those things to college kids.
I know it’s an addiction. I know I shouldn’t feel this way but fuck smokers. It’s a disgusting habit that makes everything around it stink. It also unfairly infringes in my health. I shouldn’t feel the way I do maybe and I don’t for any other addiction but fuck them. As a runner most of my life, I’ve never smoked.
smoking is the only one I feel that way about. I say live and let die but I don’t think your addiction should harm me. But, I remember you coming down on people who drink a couple weeks ago.

Arabs too. My school put up signs about being conscientious wrt to cologne and perfume because these guys would smoke and then douse themselves in cologne to mask the cigarette smell
my neighbors smoke in a common area and it fucking sucks. It makes everything stink. It fucks with my lungs and until there was a meeting about some would leave their butts on the ground. It’s a disgusting habit and like I said fuck smokers.
Same at Auburn. Had a few that drove Lambos and a mcclaren. No smoking on campus so they would just smoke across the street
