The lack of competition makes me think that estimate is low. Especially if the reviews are good. Even people who don't care about her almost have to go see it just for for End Game purposes.
I would be shocked if the reviews were bad, even if the movie was. They would have to try to be sexist for people to shit on this movie, even with the super hero fatigue that exists among those doing the reviewing. I'm kind of expecting something along the lines of CA: The First Avenger. It won't be the most exciting movie for everyone, but it will be good and if you connect with the story enough you'll end up loving it.
This is the camp I’m in. Don’t really care but will see for endgame. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it but I’m not sprinting to see it opening weekend.
In reality I just like sitting at home and watching the TVguide channel on a Saturday night. Please don’t judge me.
Sifting through all the nonsense about Captain Marvel the next two weeks is going to be annoying. I've already read a couple things from idiots bitching about Brie Larson promoting the movie like a feminist, and have at least seen titles to articles saying people are trying to mess with ratings on websites because of the girl superhero stuff.
Not even gonna bother. We're all going to see it, if only because of the IW lead-in, so I'll just avoid all non-TMB discussion about it.
I started a thread last night on the TV board https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/the-umbrella-academy.176780/
