Form a different point of view this could be a pretty cool entry into the horror genre for a younger kid but I really feels like it depends on the kid

I don't think you necessarily gave anything away going into the movie, but once someone gets to that point in the movie it's going to be obvious to them what's about to happen if they read that.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, but it may not count if the actor himself is doing the willing.

Also, ironically, Patrick Stewart was everyone's wishcasting for Xavier throughout the 90s.

Krasinski has been my pick for RR ever since I saw the first A Quiet Place. Seeing him in comic-accurate attire, beard and all, the way he spoke. Yeah, he nailed it. We only had two very short moments (added up to like a single second of film) of him using his stretch armstrong powers, so there's still no clue yet how that will look or be done in an MCU movie, but I was super excited.

Not being talked about enough here or in other places so I thought I'd mention it.

The reason the Illuminati hate Strange so much is they realized that, in universe after universe, he ends up going bad, because he has to be in control at all times. As he's told more than once in the movie, he has to have the knife in his hands (the surgeon has to do it himself). He can't trust anyone else. The MCU/616 Strange made the call to give Thanos the timestone, arguing that it---his way---was the only way. That idea is challenged by the doctor sitting beside him at the wedding in the beginning of the movie. That sets him in motion to question whether he did make the right call, but thats the wrong question to ask. He needs to be wondering if he is simple too controlling.

The opening scene of the movie shows the danger in a Strange who doesn't learn to share the knife: The other Strange decides "the only way/his way" is to drain America's powers and take them for himself. At the end of the movie, our Strange battles an evil version of himself who uses the Darkhold. Why? Because that Strange decide "the only way/his way" to protect it is to keep it in his possession.

So it's a multiverse-unique occurrence when, at the end of the movie, Strange decides NOT to drain America's powers, even with Wong telling him "it's the only way." Instead, he shares the knife, and motivates her to control her power and be a hero alongside him.

    Great character arc. Good stuff.

I did this last night. First time I've seen one on opening night since my daughter was born 3 years ago. My wife was like I don't care what you do once the kids are asleep do I took off. She'd much rather watch it on disney plus anyway.

Just the five minutes I had with an MCU-version of Reed Richards was enough to have me beyond hyped for a proper F4 movie. The version of Reed we see in this movie is arrogant and clumsy all at once. Saying he and the Illuminati can handle Wanda and then, two minutes later, just up and telling her the way to defeat Black Bolt. That's classic Reed Richards. Reed is just as arrogant as Doom, only Doom is self-aware enough to recognize it (something he will no doubt tell him one day in a confrontation)

The best thing about Reed is that he is capable of being a hero, and intellectually wants to be a hero, but his actions often end up being more destructive than helpful. There's so much nuance to the character than what we've seen on film so far. Reed is a scientist at heart, he just doesn't seem capable of grasping that his laboratory is now the entire freaking universe.

A regular joe scientist can try anything and what's the worst that can happen? Die? That's the kind of reckless love of experimentation that causes people to inject potential vaccines that might end up killing you. It's worth the risk. It's all in the name of science. What's the worst that can happen when you're running an experiment? Blow up the lab? Fine, worth the risk.

Reed is the same sort of devil may care, arrogant, reckless genius, except his laboratory is the entire universe. When he makes a mistake, the consequences are cosmic, but he lacks the humility to scale it back. If done right, he's going to be a hero who will go on a long character arc the likes of which we haven't had in the MCU since Tony Stark went from a-hole DIY superhero to sacrificial savior of the universe.

Bringing in F4 and X-Men is going to provide the MCU another twenty years of movie content. Honestly, without them, I wonder if the MCU wouldn't start to fizzle out. The reception of Black Widow, Shang Chi, and Eternals (especially BW and Eternals) was tepid at best. I think, in an alternate universe, Disney doesn't acquire F4 and X-Men, and the post-Endgame franchise slowly fizzles out, with most saying "they should have just stopped after Endgame." Instead, we've just been in the middle of a holding period and now we're about to kick things into an insane gear.

the Reed Richard's cameo was spoiled for me on YouTube 2 days ago. The first thing that popped up when I opened the app was John Krasinski in his F4 suit and the short clip auto played.

Sort of. It basically showed you how it will happen, I think. It'll be done via an incursion (when two different universes collide and merge into one new one.
