Spoiler Cheesed so hard when Andrew Garfield took his mask off. Theater erupted...and again when tobey Maguire came in Also in an all star cast its hard to stand out. But damn william dafoe stole the show
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Got a text this morning that our friend we saw this week tested positive and my wife has been having breathing issues since Thursday that we thought were her asthma My 16 year old nephew getting my tickets
Same. I think it’s coincidence but she’s getting tested to be safe and our friend wore a mask the whole time we saw her but want to be responsible so going to a movie theater doesn’t sound responsible
Love Marcus Crosswoods. Only movie I've seen there where it was packed was End Game That 4 Sunday movie deal for $20 they used to have pre-covid was clutch
Holy shit that was incredible. Can’t wait for a rewatch. Spoiler I couldn’t stop smiling once Tobey came through. I instantly felt 17 again. At the same time him being so much older hit me in the feels really hard. Molina was great and I thought Dafoe was amazing, even better than his original portrayal. Like others have said, I loved Garfield getting his redemption by saving MJ and the look on his face.
Spoiler Give me Amazing Spider-man 3. Garfield v Tom Hardy Venom. Give me a Tobey mentoring Miles movie
i need to watch without a 3 year old, but this is my initial response it was fantastic but a lot of the comedic efforts fell flat for me
Spoiler In the first couple of minutes of his appearance, I was reminded at how average an actor Maguire is - especially beside Holland and Garfield - but I thought his performance got better as the movie went on I’d struggle to put it over any of the unquestioned top-4 in the MCU.
Spoiler I loved it and thought it was an outstanding theater experience movie. Very emotional. But I don’t think it’s going to have high re-watchability for me.
There was only one specific scene in this movie that absolutely gutted me. I thought I’d be the only one in here that felt this way as some of the other scenes felt like they were going to be more powerful for the masses. After reading all the spoilers in this thread, I am not alone. Spoiler Garfield saving MJ. What a perfect scene.
Spoiler In the final diner scene I was losing it because I thought when Ned walked in MJ was going to walk over to him and kiss him. I would of died.
Another thing I loved… Spoiler A big part of Holland’s spiderman so far has been this battle between he wants to do and what he knows he is supposed to do. At the same time, when the other 2 spidey’s get pulled into this mess, there’s literally no hesitation to help. They just jump in because it’s “What they do”. By the end of this movie, Holland’s spidey finally seems ready to do this as well. Just really cool how it felt like they were all the same person, just at different stages.
Spoiler im with you on that last sentence. fun movie , full of memes, but the fan service aspect of things made it hard to be truly meaningful / for me to get all the way into it
Want to take my kids this week to the movie. They have seen all the MCU stuff but what of Toby Spiderman and Garfield Spiderman do I need to show them before going?
Spoiler Tobey's line of "We've got to save them all. It's what we do." at the end was great for this.
If you’re complaining about “fan service” please just admit you don’t like Spider-Man or being alive.
Spoiler Pretty awesome that Tom Holland got a 3 movie origin story. Now he’s in NYC, no stark tech, and on his own for the first time. I hope Sony and Marvel don’t screw this up. They could easily do 3 more now that he’s truly reset things.
Spoiler I think the last time I squealed in theater like I did when Cox was the lawyer was in Civil War when “Queens” flashed on the screen.
Spoiler loved it but I think my expectations were too high. Not gonna be super rewatchable for me but def top 7. Loved it for the reasons everyone mentioned but has a few things that lowered it from a 10 to an 8 for me. - Was hoping there’d be more to the spell than Strange just fucking it up. Seemed so out of character. - The Venom shoehorn at the end made no sense. - A big multiversal fuck up and Strange is just like “you guys fix it” also weird. - Doctor Strange teaser at the end has me hyped.
Spoiler I really thought going in he was going to be casting that spell while the events of Loki were happening and it just happened to coincide with the timeline going nuts.
Spoiler the whole reset thing is confusing to me a little in the old man Steve Rogers way. Didn’t Strange say they were going to forget everything that Peter has done. So why does Happy still know May if they removed all the history of Peter Parker’s part of Spider man.
Spoiler is it significant that dr. strange is not the sorcerer supreme? idk what that role is but i assume it goes to the most powerful wizard or whatever. will it have implications for future movies?
Spoiler having not seen venom it made 100% chance to me I believe in the comics the symbiote is extra dimensional
Spoiler But why did he get pulled into that universe in the first place? He didn’t know Peter Parker.
Spoiler I think there was an after credits scene in Venom: Let There Be Carnage where Venom sees the announcement that Peter Parker is Spider-Man on TV. That still doesn’t quite make sense but they definitely tried to force him in through two separate after credit scenes.
