Falcon/Winter Soldier was basically a group of writers sitting down in a pitch meeting and coming up with 5-6 interesting ideas/concepts, but couldn't decide which ones they actually want to focus on. So they just decided to do them all and, in the process, undercut every one of the ideas they came up with.
I am a Grinch so the entire Christmasy-ness of Hawkeye was a turnoff. Seeing Kingpin back though was cool.
Oh man, nothing personal cause I like ya but just an awful awful take for me. It’ll be a yearly holiday rewatch as well as Guardians for the rest of my life.
No I am totally aware that it's a good feel motif for most people. I'm a self-aware curmudgeon, I'm just registering my position here. WV, Loki, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, F&WS, What If, Hawkeye. That's just me. edit: added F&WS, forgot about it.
Hawkeye is up there with Moon Knight battling for my second favorite of D+ shows (behind Loki). It was delightful and the most rewatchable of them all.
WV, Loki, MK, Hawk. I won’t argue anyone’s order for those 4. All great in their own ways and it just comes down to personal preference.
I just don’t see how you don’t rate Issac’s performance in MK. Ep 5 is still possibly the best thing Marvels ever done.
1. Loki - best story and acting 2. Hawkeye - funnest and I like Christmas stuff 3. WandaVision - was a good intro into marvel shows. Was fun to speculate each week (mephisto) 4. Falcon and winter soldier - pretty clunky and not very entertaining 5. Miss marvel - meh 6. SheHulk - it was something
Damnit knew I’d forget one of them. It’s 4th. It was entertaining with great acting by Oscar but the story was too weird for me to be higher
He was brilliant as well. Different strokes clearly but that’s the beauty of the MCU, not everyone will like everything. WV will probably always be 1 for me, a lot of that because of the Covid/lock down nostalgia, it was like the only good thing happening in the world at that time. But then MK/Loki are in their own elite tier. I’m probably the ideal target audience for MK though. I thought KK was really good for the first couple episodes then it fell off a cliff but I realize a mid 30s white dude isn’t who that show was made for.
Hawkeye was the most fun show. And could have been condensed into a 2 hour MCU Die Hard. Eternals should have been a 10 episode miniseries.
I thought MK was good and place it in the top 3 of Disney+ shows taking into consideration how Disney can’t get too graphic ala Netflix’s Daredevil and Punisher series (which are my tops for marvel shows). I hope they can pull off the new daredevil series at a PG13 level to do the character justice but I’m not too optimistic about it.
Secret Invasion. Skrulls infiltrate high ranking positions in world offices (khaleesi finding the matrix tubes are probably the actual humans they’re mimicking). It’s up to Shield (Nick Fury) and Sword (Abby Brant, Emilia Clarkes character, also a mutant) to unlock how deep the infection goes. Should be very spy thriller/Winter Soldier vibes.
Too many secrets in this phase. Secret Invasion is very Earth bound, skrulls infiltrate and erode from within as they do. Secret Wars is a giant multiverse including, any and every corner of the marvel-verse thrown onto a giant winner takes all battle planet.
Spoiler I think it’s supposed to take place in the 60’s and then being in the multiverse for decades before arriving on earth 616
Spoiler Woah. There’s that WV line about “the crew being lost” or whatever. Would there be a “young” F4 then a current “old” one? Would they transport them 60 years in the future and keep the same actors? That’s a lot to think about.
Spoiler I bet they keep them the same age and something to do within the multiverse keeps them at the same age while they’re in there for decades
I know no spoilers, but yes. Drax will probably not die, but have some kind of a happy ending/retirement. Peter and Gamora will live, I predict, and continue their adventures. Can't say about Groot.
