I think he’s supposed to be around the same area that Wanda is from in the MCU. Heck they did away with her accent so I guess it doesn’t matter who plays him.
There was something mentioned I think by Wanda that one of the neighboring countries was buying up all the land and I thought that was a hint at Doom
Thought it was the best thing since Endgame. I got to my seat at 7:20 for a 7:30 showing. Some genius at the theater must have thought it was supposed to start at 7:00 so the previews were coming to an end a few minutes after I sat down and the movie started at 7:28. A bunch of people who were probably trying to miss the previews came in after it had started. They let the movie play for 25 minutes before they got a lot of complaints and then they just decided to restart it. So basically I got to watch the first 25 minutes twice.
Wow Loved it. Best since Infinity War, imo. Felt like a real "movie" and not a typical MCU "next adventure" Great balance of humor and drama, a great plot, every character had a moment or three to shine, and a tremendously satisfying ending. I can't wait to see James Gunn revive Superman.
Banger. Spoiler Very satisfying for the Guardians. No idea on plot advancement for the MCU or any character tie-ins. The final credit scene was not worth the wait, I would like to recklessly speculate that there might have been a filmed Kang scene or something that they had to rapidly improvise.
James Gunn’s ability to do ensemble movies where he gives the characters their own arc but still ties those in so smoothly into the main plot of the movie is awesome.
It’s his best movie imo. Only peacemaker can compare but that’s 6 hours more of footage and John cena is amazing.
I liked it. 1 is still by far the best in my opinion and a 9/10 on the marvel scale. 2 and 3 are both good movies but more like 7/10.
Spoiler The movie will give the viewer a different perspective on Rocket whenever they rewatch any previous movie he’s in. From Baby Groot all the way now to Kaiju Groot, and then “I love you guys”
Obviously the first two GOTG, Infinity War, Endgame when they start the time heist, and then the Xmas special.
Assuming you've seen the past movies (vol1-2, Infinity War/Endgame in particular), nothing is necessary for a rewatch. As long as you know Gamora died in Infinity War, came back in Endgame without knowing Quill, and that Mantis and Quill are quasi-siblings (from vol 2), you'll be fine. The movie is standalone.
Spoiler I think we were about as off as our Soul Stone predictions when it came to which Guardians would survive, and I think we all kind of assumed Gamora and Quill would end up back together as well.
Hated this. Spoiler rocket saying “hurts” will haunt my family forever also, a PSA to anyone that posts in the dog thread: https://slate.com/culture/2023/05/guardians-galaxy-vol-3-marvel-animal-torture.html
Amazing. Spoiler Really liked that Peter and Gamorra didn’t end up together. Really liked Nebulas arc over the three movies + Endgame. Loved her being happy at the end. Loved Drax the Dadstroyer Komso was excellent
I legit squealed Spoiler KING FUCKING GROOT!!!!!!! I didn’t think we’d ever see him in king Groot form! Hopefully he shows up to wreck shit in the future.
Spoiler Any idea who the girl was at the end? I feel like she's probably an established character. Also what was up with that guy with the Ravagers using the same magic as Strange and the other sorcerer's?
