has anyone watched the Marvel: Assembling a Universe doc? just saw it pop up on ptp wondering if it's worth my time.
I'm sure you guys covered this long ago, but I always said that my go to for one super power would be teleportation. Seems like it would be so much better than flying
So I'm doing a rewatch of the MCU movies and watched Avengers last night (fantastic as usual) and got through about half of Iron Man 3. God dammit, I hate that movie so much. Shane Black totally ignored the fact that other heroes exist in that universe and basically fucked off everything created in Phase One. They couldn't have picked a shittier movie to kick off Phase Two with. Fortunately, the rest of Phase Two is awesome and I've got some good stuff to look forward to before seeing AoU on Saturday.
They had the perfect storyline and still fucked it up. All they had to do was follow the Extremis plot. Watched the cartoon miniseries on Netflix. It was great.
the lack of Favreau in IM3 was very evident. I did like parts of the movie, but overall it just wasnt well done at all. moving on though, im extremely excited about Benedict Cumberbatch being Doctor Strange
The Iron Legion ( or whatever it was called ) was pretty cool. Spoiler At least until they inspired Ultron
Well that's incredibly well done. Strange is top 5 for me. I always rolled with him in Ultimate Alliance.
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR to Start Shooting in Late 2016; Will Film for 9 Months There’s no rest for a weary superhero. Chris Evans is out promoting Avengers: Age of Ultron, and very soon he’ll be suiting up again to start filming on Captain America: Civil War. Evans spoke to Esquire about his upcoming shooting schedule and says that filming on Civil War will go until about “August or September”, which is the usual shoot time for a major blockbuster film. However, because he’s on a Marvel contract and Marvel has release dates for all of its Phase Three movies, Evans also knows that he’ll be needed for Avengers: Infinity War, which will be two films shot back to back. Evans tells Esquire that he thinks filming begins in either fall or winter 2016 and, “That’s going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back.” Image via Marvel The lengthy production schedule isn’t too much of a surprise, and I’m curious to see how many other MCU actors will have to adhere to it. So many actors are getting sucked into the MCU, so how many of them will be spending the larger part of a year working on these two movies? Evans doesn’t sound bummed by the prospect, and just accepts it as part of his working schedule. “”You know, you plan around the Marvel responsibilities,” says Evans. “You have to.” Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 will be released on May 4, 2018, and Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 will open on May 3, 2019. Captain America: The Winter Soldier screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely will pen the script and Joe and Anthony Russo will direct. Couldn't wait and watched the cam on ptp. Will wait for when i see it this weekend to make a final opinion qnd maybe I just missed something that the comic book guys in here can explain, but my initial opinon was being somewhat disappointed in the story and where they took it.
Just finished Iron Man 3. Cemented itself firmly as the absolute bottom of the MCU. Black made a mockery of everything with that piece of shit. Seriously fuck him for ruining The Mandarin.
Be careful with how you talk about RDJ. The President of his fan club is a member of this board and will come white knighting at a moment's notice.
I think people expected one kind of movie and were surprised/let down they got a different kind of movie. People saw Star Wars, and were promised the sequel would be The Empire Strikes Back. Instead they got...more Star Wars.
Who the fuck cares about RT scores Its a comic book movie for christs sake, not a Best Picture nominee
Although I'd say RT was fairly spot on with: Iron Man 1 - 93% Avengers - 92% GOTG - 91% Winter Soldier - 89% But I agree some will always feel let down by a sequel from a huge blockbuster. The funny thing is some of the spoiler free reviews I've read, the positive ones and the negative ones are kind of the same.
AOU was never going to be rated as high because it's the sequel to arguably the best pure comic book movie ever made.
A lot of the negative reviews I've seen have to do with the critic having "superhero movie fatigue" or not liking the fact that they have to watch 10 movies prior to this one to understand all the characters. Basically they're bitching just to bitch.
