Spoiler Low key one of my favorite parts was Danny Elfman playing the WandaVision chimes when Wong mentions witchcraft for the first time. Biggest complaint I keep seeing is WV fanboys complaining that their girl turned evil and it ruined her story in the show. Did y’all not see her elbows deep in the Darkhold at the end? We knew that was going to happen. My biggest gripe is I was for sure we’d see an homage to “no more….” but didn’t. Seeing a full powered Switch just rip through Stange and Kamar-Taj was epic though.
Spoiler captain carter with the “i can do this all day” then getting sliced in half with the shield was great
Spoiler Do you even Young Avengers bruh? *Im assuming they’ll be teenage version by the time they roll that out.
Wow. Def a Raimi movie. Elizabeth Olsen really brought it. Impressive. Spoiler Def a lot of similarities with What If. The Illuminati deaths were awesome. I’m gonna assume since we got Krasinski here he won’t be Reed in the F4 movies. You know Fiege loves to fuck with fans. Also going out in a limb and saying SW isn’t dead. We never saw the body. And Hayley will always have my
Spoiler I've been thinking about that in terms of the WV story. I'm not sure what the Wanda Vision arc for her really was, which was why I wasn't a huge fan of the way that wrapped up. She kind of felt bad that she imprisoned peoples' minds and bodies, but some of that was also her feeling sorry for herself that they hated her for it. She then became the Scarlet Witch, basically told Monica "trust me, I'm good" as she flew away before someone could try to punish her for it, and then started reading the Darkhold. Wanda was not a good person in that show.
Kinda unexcited for this. The trailer played before the movie and the theater reaction was pretty muted
It was a cutesy show and concept and people misinterpreted that cuteness with Wanda being a hero. Quite possibly the most insane thing ever written in human history.
Spoiler Yeah the dark hold is what basically corrupted her and sent her down that path looking for her kids. In the comics CThon is the instigator.
I’m not the biggest fan of Portman. But I’m ecstatic for the movie. The SL/Thor Chemistry is amazing. And they’ve haven’t even touched on the God Butcher stuff in the trailers.
You get this feeling like the Guardians will peace out about 10 minutes in (maybe they get a clue about where Gamora is) and that’s fine. I think Taika will do wonders with Portman. She can be pretty funny.
To each their own, but Thor had Ragnarok and then the best story arc in IW and EG. I'm all in on any Thor movie they want to make. Unless Hemsworth totally mails it in because he just doesn't want to do it anymore, I don't see how that movie doesn't work.
I wish for his sake they would have kept his head sheared, apparently that’s the only thing he doesn’t enjoy about Thor
On this page alone I've been forced to read that the new Thor doesn't look exciting and that Portman is meh. I am deeply offended.
Dr. Strange was great, but my only gripe while watching it was… Spoiler: Spoiler I kept waiting for the Vision. As sad as she is about the kids, you could really see her pain when she talks about killing her love for nothing. There has to be a multiverse where he is still around as well. Why wouldn’t he at least warrant a mention? Or, what about the new white vision returning? If not here, where else would he return? The end was good, but it felt redundant because Strange had already asked her what she would do about the other Wanda. I guess she needed to live it rather than imagine it, but what if Vision was in the mix to help her see that she had lost her way?
Dr. Strange IW -> EG WV final 2 eps Loki finale What If Strange and Ultron eps NWH This is what I'm rewatching before MoM. About to start EG. Will watch NWH before going tomorrow.
Spoiler He’ll return. Full vision, memories and all, with enough mind stone energy from Wanda to keep him a powerhouse. But it won’t be until it’s least expected. Trust in Feige.
Spoiler I regard Vision's omission from the movie as a "notable" absence. In other words, he didn't slip anyone's mind. His being left out of the movie was deliberate. He'll be back.
Spoiler I was glad Vision wasn't in the movie. I think the movie is almost certainly better without him.
Expect for it to be on Ragnarok level - have a few friends that worked on it. I wasn't mind blown by the trailer either but apparently the film is going to be awesome.
From the looks of it that initial trailer probably doesn’t get even 30 minutes into the movie. Taika directing my favorite character and basing it off of one of my favorite stories. I’m expecting perfection, and I have no doubt Taika will deliver well beyond my expectations.
Haven't seen it yet so obviously avoiding the spoilers here, but pleased to see the positive feedback from all here. The first DS is one of my favourite MCU films so I'm looking forward to this.
Don’t know when I’ll be able to see it so today is my last day in here for a bit. Can’t wait to catch up
Movie was great but it sure would be nice if Marvel figured out where this thing is going. Right now it is all over the damm place.
That is great. But from a viewer who isn't Dirtball it is not exactly the clearest thing going. Which makes it pretty hard to care about many of the characters and stakes unlike the Infinity War Saga.
Looks like they’re setting up a mulitversal war which will lead into secret wars from the YouTube videos I watched. I’m not a comic book guy so I rely on YouTube gets like ScreenCrush to tell me what I need to know.
I've been thinking about this a fair amount after these D+ shows and some of these MCU movies lately. Spoiler I enjoy the content. Some of it is great. But it's just not the same as it was before IW and EG. You knew that stuff was building to something incredible. All the movies were like adding an extra piece that was necessary to complete the puzzle. It was one big, long TV series that all came together with an incredible payoff. Since EG, these movies and shows feel like a bunch of different TV series on the same network. They're enjoyable, but I don't have that excitement walking away for whatever is the next chapter in the story because it doesn't feel all that connected. And it's not necessarily Marvel's fault it feels like this to me now. The reason it feels this way is because of how insane that first decade was and how well they pulled it off. This was inevitable.
probably setting up secret wars based on the YouTube breakdowns I've seen. I'm still interested to see how they incorporate F4 and X-Men. Those are 2 huge properties and the MCU is losing/has lost some star power with a large chunk of the Avengers being retired/dead/etc. (whether on screen or off). Hemsworth/Thor is really the only OG Avenger left who carries his own movies.
I feel like this is a pretty lame thing to complain about. I’d rather not know exactly where they’re taking it.
It’s still incredibly sad that Chadwick passed away. He could have carried the mantle into this next phase of Marvel extremely well.
I think they are okay. Strange just made nearly 200 million on opening weekend. They have taken characters and actors that weren't super stars and turned them into that. No reason to expect this next phase won't do the same with a lot of new characters. I think you guys are only remembering how it was at the end of that long arc. There were a lot of films that didn't really have any tie into or set up Infinity War at all that were still great.
Exactly. Imagine seeing the delightful Antman with Paul Rudd, then saying “I don’t know where they’re going with this, I’m out”
The payoff of Endgame from Iron Man was over a decade, just enjoy the movies for what they are and enjoy the ride.
My brother watched DS2 yesterday and hated it. Fell asleep multiple times. My expectations are tempered, but I’ll probably enjoy it.
