What's the title
they really did a number on this to make Brie Larson attractive
it wasn't the a4 title. Captain Marvel trailer tomorrow.
It was a captain marvel poster
Et tu, Luké
Rumors now flying that A4 was supposed to be during MNF and CM during GMA on Wednesday but they bumped CM up for some reason.
Probably because it releases first.
Are they going to stick with the first weekend in May or bump it up to the end of April like Infinity War?
I like the fact they are making more of an effort re: diversity after the success of Black Panther. Still, an interesting choice for a film. I would expect this to be a TV show on Disney+, but maybe they want to distance themselves from Iron Fist.
Brie is delightful.
Except from the back.
This reads like Drax talking to Mantis
Drax would probably straight up say “except for her flat ass”
I've never heard of Shang-Chi but I'm in for a martial arts movie in the MCU. Step 1 should be to hire the fight choreography team from the Raid movies.
those movies are awesome
Far from home trailer dropping this week too?
I’m really interested in how they’re going to market that movie, since it comes out only a few months after A4.
Granted, considering the success of Venom, Sony may be high on their horse right now and go full on:
And Feige said it picks up minutes after A4 ends
Captain Marvel trailer looked pretty fun .
Great visuals but the screenplay seems to be lacking that special kind of magic that other marvel movies have.
It seems stilted and blunt, but granted its only a sliver of the final product.
Also Larson is a better actor than she comes across in the two trailer. Makes me wonder if the director is MCUs first misfire since Thor 2
Lots of money shots in that trailer. I like Brie but I'm not sure she's the best fit for the role.
Setting up Secret War for the next phase is more than enough for me
Meh — it’s just the trailer but feels like it is missing something.
Will watch. Probably on demand unless reviews change my mind.
Trailer isn't great imo.
Looks awesome and appears it’ll really expand the universe which I’m all for
Honestly, both trailers combined have me pretty “meh” when is comes to Captain Marvel. Granted, that is hyped vs. most movies, but luke warm for MCU films.
Probably doesn’t help I’m not a big Brie Larson fan.
So is there one big bad? Is the villain just the Skrull empire? Does she start the movie fighting for Ronan and the Kree?
For the record, I was "meh" about Black Panther based on the trailers, but I was quite happy that I saw it in the theater.
Big bad of the film begins with the Skrulls, and they remain a large threat throughout the film. Probably one that isn’t completely resolved at the end to set up a Secret Invasion plot in the future.
Main plot turns into what the Kree did to
Carol and the inevitable betrayal of several members of her team, led by Jude Law’s character and probably Ronan.
Trailer was meh to me.
But I’m not really that excited about Captain marvel either. The character never really appealed to me.
And Brie’s acting in the trailers is not very good. Will still see in theaters but I may not go opening night...
So I’m guessing she’s team Kree but then as she’s traveling through earth she gets her memory back and realizes how she really got her powers and that the Kree have been brainwashing her to fight for them. My swing for the fences guess is that we see the Super Skrull at some point (maybe a post credits scene).
I think some of that dialogue is just introducing the character in the trailer. A lot of the lines I remember from trailers like this in the past don't even end up in the movie. They're just something that helps the trailer tell a story. Wouldn't be surprised if the same happens with this, given how unknown the character is to much of the audience.
Space-mohawk CM has me feeling a certain kind of way...
Jude Law is Mar-Vel isn’t he?
Liked this trailer much more than the last. The "with her/hero" kinda got me, but I'm easy. Brie Larson all aflame sold me.
That makes A LOT more sense.
Yeah. I’m more and more convinced her plane collided with Mar-Vell during some event, and result is her gaining his powers while losing her memories. The Kree manipulate and use her from there. Film is above her regaining her memories and breaking free of Kree control, with the Skrulls and Kree civil war as an eventual backdrop.
I'm dumb and too tired to Google: is Carol Danvers the same as Mrs. Marvel? The lady Rogue got her powers from?
fucking lol how jaded are some of you.
I don’t know if “jaded” is the correct word to use in regards to many of these responses, to include my own.
“Jaded” implies we have been burned so many times before we expect the worst. Far from it with MCU films. Quite the opposite.
I feel more underwhelmed than anything close to jaded.
I can only assume Ser Dump has fainted from being so impressed with Brie
I know she has progressed incredibly as an actor since, but I just can’t see her outside of her role in 21 Jump Street. Yes, that’s on me. I accept it. Can’t change it though.
I think it looks incredible.
That end sequence certainly shows the potential for the most powerful MCU character stuff.
Have you seen Room?
