And that’s how Donald Trump was elected president
The thing with interesting/complex characters is you gotta nail the casting. Both the original and the reboot versions of Cyclops was just...bland.
I feel like the writing is to blame for marsden
Cyclops was never a complicated character. He’s pretty generic.
This. In the hands of a great writer Cyclops can be great. Joss Whedons run on Astonishing XMen for example
That could parallel Giant Sized with someone traveling the globe and bringing together all of these international super humans.
I’d love to see Sunfire, Warpath, Storm, Colossus, etc.
Governments would be nervous because everyone is international.
They could make it that Shield experimented on a bunch of people back then and current mutants are discovered because of genetic mutations.
They could also tie in the Kree if they want. They could have given the science to Shield back in the day.
Yeah that’s pretty cool too.
There are so many characters in X-Men that they could namedrop who had since died if the story was how they had been around since the ‘60s.
“Longshot and Warpath were killed in the 1973 mission in Antarctica...” for example
He has commonly been portrayed as “boring” by several writers, but he has had had some really great character arcs in the comics in the past few years.
I can see it difficult introducing him and showing his character arc from a character who always takes orders to one who downright murders his mentor throughout the course of a few movies.
With that said, Cyclops, in the hands of the correct writer, has a wealth of material.
I kinda wish they’d roll out X-Men with their own cinematic universe where each character has their own movies and then they team up and then their CU crosses over with Avengers as it develops
Slowly and surely it could be.
IMO the X-Men have such depth and room to grow, it could almost be a really cool HBO-like series, with some violence too gory for regular television.
However I guess it’s all Disney + now.
Just think about the storylines:
1. You could spend several episodes on Angel becoming Archangel
2. Savage land
3. Asteroid M
It goes on and on
My ideal X-Men scenario is a series of movies with different teams, using Xavier as kind of the Nick Fury overlord that links them all. Do three to five movies with different teams and then do a big Avengers-style team-up against a big threat.
X-Men is the golden goose property for a reason. There's so much more material and potential than Fox ever knew what to do with. They maybe developed 20% of what you could do with the X-Men franchise.
20%?, not even 2% of it was tapped.
Outside of butchering Dark Phoenix twice, a really good Old Man Logan story and a few cool CGI shots of Quicksilver running in slow motion time what has Fox really accomplished?
20% developed, but not all of it well.
They covered God Loves, Man Kills, The Cure, Dark Phoenix (twice), Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Old Man Logan (in a sense).
Fox hit a lot of the big plotlines, but left a lot of untapped potential on the table. That's all I mean.
Trust in Feige.
Days of Future Past was incredible
Days of Future Past is the best X-Men film.
But yes, the amount of content Feige has for X-Men is a goldmine.
What characters do you want to see (again)? I would like to see Forge, Bishop, Cyclops, Sinister, Psylocke - Idk the list goes on and on.
Mr. Sinister would be an amazing adaptation if done right...
Would also be a good showcase for Cyclops
This from the guy that like Ironman 3.
Iron Man 3 is the most crucial movie in the franchise and I won't hear otherwise
As if I couldn't already be more sold on Disney+, it is now being reported it will include basically all the old Marvel animated shows, to include X-Men: The Animated Series.
If it has Darkwing Duck I will be soooo happy.
that gif is perfect
Oh it will and so much more
Goat theme songs
I mean...I may never watch anything else. Just take all of my money, Disney.
That 3 for price of 2 deal was the best thing I’ve done in a while
Same. I know the price will go up when the sub runs out but I'm going to enjoy every bit of it for the next three years.
I am the perfect target demo too. I was a kid during the era of Saturday morning Disney cartoons, a tween during the Renaissance, and now am the father of a 13 year old (Marvel, Star Wars), a 10 year old (Disney XD), and a 4 year old (literally everything else).
Just give me wolverine. Everything else is gravy.
I missed the deadline, so thanks for letting me have a profile on your account
$4.99 a month and you got a deal
But srsly, my kid refuses to tie his shoes cause Miles keeps his untied....
I can’t let Spider-Man DIE
neither can I
Yeah, it is OK, you gotta go home man
How do I know I won’t mess it up?
Right.....It’s a leap of faith....
Not bad kid
CAP + SHIELD + MJOLNIR.... name me a better trio.
Cap + Thor + Iron Man
“How could I, you’re taking all the stupid with you.”
Drunk esteemed user DirtBall + case of White Claw + Avengers: Endgame
I still think an opportunity was missed by not having Cap slap the nano suit on that Tony gave him after he returned from space.
This was pretty cool. I know I would have went crazy if my school did this if I was in high school.
FFH on digital tomorrow
The Stepford Cuckoo Sisters
Unus the Untouchable
Just so many great characters and stories to pull from.
