The new deal was signed late on Thursday night. Negotiations involved top players from both studios, including Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman, Feige, and Walt Disney Studios head Alan Horn. In exchange for lending Feige’s producing prowess, Marvel and Disney will receive roughly 25% of the profits, according to insiders. Disney will retain its merchandising rights. As part of the arrangement, Spider-Man will also appear in one future Marvel Studios film.
he's not going to become one of the main characters unless Marvel/Disney can get full control or at least a long-term deal.
I hope they just call it Spider-Man 3 with no other title just so we can finally have a SM3 movie that isn’t a disaster
good topic deserves it's own thread https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/biggest-movie-disappointments.178498/
So Tom is going to be in both the Sony universe and the MCU. So I guess a multiverse that he will be able to jump between, one with Venom and Sony characters and the other in the MCU with the Avengers.
That’s a pretty big win for Sony, or is it, I cantt believe that all it took was meeting in the middle of Disney’s original proposal
My original thought was, if Sony/Marvel are serious about it ending with one more Spidey and one more MCU movie, then they’d use Multiverse of Madness to spin Spider-Man into the Sony universe. Then I realized Multiverse of Madness comes out before SM3.
