Someone explain something to me about black panther. If the king and black panther drinks the herb to get super powers after they become coronated how did Tchalla already have powers at the start of the movie. Recall that he had to have his powers taken away before fighting Mbaku and he was running around with superpowers all over civil war immediately after his father died. Pretty sure he didn't have time nor did he experience the ancestral plane then. Was he bp in waiting before his dad died?
I just assumed he took the Black Panther mantle even though he wasn’t technically king since T’Chaka was old.
I’m beyond fucking annoyed that a good friend of mine told me he walked out of Black Panther because it was the most racist thing he’s ever seen. And no, I’m not friends with Hoss IRL.
Bruh, they got maglev trains underground and spaceships, I'm sure Shuri could figure out a way to bring the heart herb outside of Wakanda.
I mean, I think Cheers was fucking overrated, but I don't blame all degenerate drunken Irish for it. I just blame all white people.
I think he had the title of the black panther and protector of Wakanda due to T’chaka’s age but T’Chaka was still king. I think that’s the way it was in EMH when Man Ape killed T’Chaka.
"At first I thought he was another Hollywood-type person, but then I realized he was more than likely from another planet" that's a quote that easily could apply to Jeff Goldblum himself.

It's going to be Stark. They already riffed on Civil War and of course Cap was the one that got got during that time. They are going to switch it up. Going to be the on screen uncle Ben equivalent for this version of Peter. And imma weep like a baby.
I could see them pulling the bait and switch again similar to what they did with Hawkeye/Quicksilver in AoU. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Tony dies saving Cap’s life. Devastated, obviously. But not surprised.
I still want my “I can do this all day” to Thanos. But I’ll accept a “I’m with you to the end of the line” from Tony.
No way Tony Stark makes it out alive. Longest tenured, very doubtful we’d ever get an Iron Man 4, and Shuri can now replace him as the tech outfitter of the Avengers
Bucky tells Cap he's with him til the end of the line as Steve takes his last breath. Bucky then picks up the shield.
Kinda messed up, but I'm looking forward to the character reactions of whoever gets killed. If Cap dies I want to see Tony lose it. Would be awesome if Thor gets emotional.
https://www.cbr.com/how-chris-evans-copes-with-anxiety/ How Chris Evans Copes with Anxiety After first turning down the role, he revealed in a Twitter video that he went to therapy because of anxiety, only to eventually realize, “Maybe the thing you’re most scared of is exactly the thing you should do.” He stated that it was a “bumpy acclimation” when he first started shooting as Cap, with roles in past comic book movies such as the Fantastic Four films, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and The Losers among those weighing on his mind. Evans, however, remained thankful he made the right decision to take on the Captain America role, which has led to him engaging in several acts of charity, visiting sick children in hospitals and also, tackling issues such as bullying and discrimination, especially politically, online. When asked what advice he’d give his younger self, he replied, “It might seem oversimplified, but it’s profound, I’d say, ‘Shhhh.’ It’s been a big thing for me, ‘Shhhh.’ It’s so funny how noisy my brain is. Everyone’s brain is noisy, it makes thoughts. The problem is, in most of our lives, the root of suffering is following that brain noise and listening to that brain noise and actually identifying with it as if it’s who you are. That’s just the noise your brain makes, and more often than not, it probably doesn’t have much to say. (Saying ‘Shhhh,’) it’s gonna help you.” Evans will next be seen in Avengers: Infinity War in theaters on May 28. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film also stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as the Falcon, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Chris Pratt as Star Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Josh Brolin as Thanos. I don’t particularly want any of the heroes to die. I really don’t think anyone major dies before part 2
Wasn't sure if this should go here or in the shoe thread, but figured if you didn't go into the shoe thread you still might be interested:
Good news, everyone. My Liberian immigrant coworker saw BP over the weekend and while he enjoyed it, he “didn’t get the big deal about it”. You are allowed to not be over the moon about the movie without being a colonizing racist.
Being serious for a second, there’s actually a pronounced division between Africans and African-Americans. Many Africans were annoyed by the film - not actually filmed in Africa, blamed Africans for the plight of African Americans, not “authentically” African. Im not stunned someone from Liberia would view the movie very differently than a black person from Atlanta. That said, of course simply disliking the movie doesn’t make one racist.
