That's the average gross per movie. Warwick Davis actually has a higher average but has appeared in less films.
Then the title "highest grossing actor" is a bit misleading. I don't know how I want it worded, but that's not it.
He shouldn't count. Just because they include about 2 minutes of him in every movie doesn't make him an actor.
I typically avoid 3D, but with all the colors I think it really enhanced the experience. Think Avatar only not a shitty movie.
god that was amazing between the soundtrack, the character development, and Baby Groot it had everything
Saw it for the second time last night. When they're escaping Ego's planet and Drax starts screaming, "Rocket, where's Quill?! Where's Quill?!" it hit me hard. Makes you feel the whole family aspect they have.
Rewatching Civil War Don't know that any other Marvel movie got as many applause as this one. I don't know that any action scene has brought me to near tears but the airport scene did 2-3 times
Laid some groundwork into the brutality of Thanos. Explained that he ripped Nebula's eye and brain from her body. Makes me think he'll have a holy shit moment in Infinity War. Perhaps as the cliffhanger leading into Avengers 4.
Feels more like a reference to Vision getting his brain dot ripped out, given the precision and head specific mentions. but also yes
I don't envy the task of writing the scripts for Avengers 3-4. How in the world do you squeeze in enough development/dialogue to cover all your bases with so many characters?
Apparently the Sentinels in this are govt agents in suits. I know they're working with a TV budget but give me a break.
http://www.newsarama.com/34495-repo...r-x-men-dark-phoenix-but-not-new-mutants.html I'm not sure how legit this website is, but being an X-Men fan I'm ok with Fassbender coming back. However as most of us agreed, Apocalypse sucked balls.
Used the offer someone put in here to preorder. Had completely forgotten it until I got on Amazon yesterday, and saw expected delivery for the 23rd. Immediate rewatch.
Yup, absurd hour rewatch, don't even care. This is only my second time seeing it, and it only seems to get better.
Clearly not an option in the theater, but I legitimately needed to pause and take a breath after Chuck's seizure scene in the casino. It felt every bit as interminable watching on my couch. Just fuck, so excruciating, so awesome, and it's played out so slowly you'd think vince gilligan was writing/directing the scene. Huzzah's for Mangold.
Was really cool in b&w on the big screen During the Q&A Mangold said getting Fox to sign off on the film being R was easy due to success of Deadpool and because it would be even lower budget than Deadpool
Idk man that's just what they claimed last night Maybe he meant money that fox put up or just meant "lower budget" in general
Saw Guardians last night. My self-obligatory thoughts: 1. Too many (stupid) jokes. For every four jokes, one was funny. Some didn't work just because they were stale, and others because the buildup to the one-liner/punch-line was so predictable it didn't work. For example (in no particular order): a. Taserface scene when he speaks with Ayesha and she busts out laughing at his name. Lame, the film had about a five-minute scene establishing early-on his name was rather comical. b. The Groot scene when he brings back the incorrect fin items to Yondu and Rocket. That went on for a way too long. c. Nebula's interaction with Kraglin about her reasoning for leaving, with Kraglin's joke about her maybe wanting something pretty. I forget but it was incredibly long and halfway through Nebula's speech you knew it was going to end up as a joke. d. The opening scene with Groot dancing around as the rest of the team battles the giant squid or whatever it was. I understand "hey let's do something unique to show the credits in the opening." (Besides BvS, Guardians and Logan, name the last comic-book superhero movie that opened up with credits.) So I didn't really laugh at Groot dancing, maybe for the first 30 seconds, but after five minutes I was wondering when it would stop. 2. Same concern I have with Deadpool 2, as in the studio will try to make the film "too funny." I think this is the problem with Guardians 2. Vol. 1 had some natural comedy and unpredictable jokes. Vol. 2 just too many unnecessary crap going on. 3. I arrived to the film late, and walked in just as (a young) Kurt Russell was driving down the highway, and I swear I honestly thought I was in the wrong movie for a second and checked my ticket to make sure I was in the right theater room. Then I saw Russell's face and knew they had added that effect for the film. Scary, imagine all the insecure actors that will have that special effect added into their contract to sign on for a film in the future. 4. I thought the storyline was pretty good, and you could see the Empire Strikes Back theme with the group 'splitting up' for most of the movie until reuniting at the end. 5. Michael Rooker was great. Love that character and sad to see him go. The "Mary Poppins" quote was funny, but unlike some of you, and to best quote you, I wasn't "loosing it," or "laughing uncontrollably" in the theater. 6. Finally, and same goes for Vol. 1, but the soundtrack is what makes these Guardians movies. Since Quill has a Zune with 300+ songs, maybe Vol. 3 they add '80s music, since technically he was abducted in the late '80s and would theoretically know some of the music, however I prefer the '70s stuff. If they added '90s and '00s music I think it would absolutely ruin the overall mood of the film. Fleetwood Mac's The Chain was perfect for some of those scenes. 7. Oh wait, one more. Zoe Saldana. Jesus Fucking Christ. That's all.
That's more showing that the people of the Sovereign have some sort of sense of humor. Not some specifically created beings with no personality. I think everyone else in this thread agreed that it was a great comedic moment. And you not liking the opening scene much makes it sound like you're being a contrarion for the sake of being one in this thread.
