If I recall the idea was for the power to be latent within her and the space mission brought it out. But they may have changed the story between Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix
the other response about it being latent is correct. Jean doesn't know what that power is when she's using it, she just knows she's powerful in general. Prof X knows what she has. The issue with the power in Dark Phoenix is, well, she goes Dark. The power takes over her conscious being.
I actually really liked fat Thor and understanding having to nerf hulk, Thor, and make captain marvel Mia to give all of the other characters decision makers against thanos, But I feel like we were robbed of an OP Thor / marvel tag team vs thanos scene. And OP Thor was so awesome.
Spoiler she said she wasn't allowed to use the word 'Alien' but said fuck it I'm an alien. though she said she's "other worldly" then they talked about how they showcase their powers. She slips how she cuts people with a simple wag of the finger. not a big deal, but she's going to murder people apparently
With Dark Phoenix ending the X-Men Fox franchise, I still stand by the idea to introduce Forge and Bishop as the first X-Men into the MCU. Whether they are in another multiverse timeline or what, you can have Forge construct something to send Bishop to the past to warn someone of something. Maybe Stephen Strange or Captain Marvel.
I like this idea. Honestly, give me Brolin as Cable to be brought in for the LOLz My thought is they'll introduce Prof X whenever they want to do the Illuminati and it be a end credit scene. By the time BP2 and DS2 come out, it will be time. But if you do an end credit scene at one of their films, then you still have a few years until the first new X-Men movie.

We are the same. Was good but I would have called IW a 9.5 and EG around a 7.5. wrapped up the narrative and had the cap and tony feels but didn't leave the theatre planning on a rewatch.
Took my daughter to see endgame last night. Watching her face pop on the Cap and hammer moment, plus Thor getting wild, and the "on your left "....well worth the price of admission
This sounds like a lot of bullshit rationalizing just to do another dark phoenix story when it's already been in x-men movies.
They've been vague about it but she's something/someone else. Or they just combined characters and made someone new.
