Oh, I should clarify, I'm following it on Twitter when a name is announced on the NFL feed. My Pixel is on ambiant mode, so it just shows a name in the low power setting in black and white. And no one is around me, again, in the back row in the corner ( the cinema I go to isn't jam packed on Thursday night openings. It wasn't last year and so far isn't currently.
It’s trending to have a worse opening weekend at the box office than The Wolverine. Which would be the worst of any X-Men franchise movie.
And why did they decide to push this one out? They had to know interest was killed after the Apocalypse movie ( pun intended ) plus redoing a story done ( albeit poorly ) 15 years ago.
I’d swim through an Olympic sized pool filled with snakes and spiders to smell Jennifer Lawrence and Sophie Turner’s farts And still have zero desire to see that movie
I figured they wouldn’t drop it early for fear of spoilers. I have no fear whatsoever the movie isn’t great and they delayed the embargo due to expected poor reviews.
They did the same with Infinity War too, I believe. Held it off until the 11th hour. edit: Yep, Infinity Wars reviews were finally posted three days before release.
it's looking very unlikely I make it to the early showing for Endgame on Tuesday. :( now I need to figure out when I can actually see it and find a ticket.
I actually really like the Beast, Quicksilver, and Nightcrawler casting and portrayal in this series. Fassbender and McAvoy are obviously gold. JLaw was good early and the character has lacked as the series has continued. Sophie Turner is great. So it takes reeeeeally bad writing to get this cast to make a bad movie. Endgame may still be in theaters when this drops and will probably still do better weekend numbers.I can't begin to explain my excitement for a studio taking over this franchise that knows wtf the fans want, even if it takes years.
Regarding the trailer though...with Magneto fully aware of the extent of his powers at this point in the series, there's no chance a piece of a metal helicopter blade comes anywhere close to threatening him.
All of that said, visually, it looks really good. I hope they switched the neighborhood death scene to Mystique instead of Charles like in X-3. I'm done now.
I didn't get tickets when they first went on sale. Just figured I'd see it on my time. Got bored at work yesterday and looked up tickets just because. Found 5 back row dead center for a fellow dad friend and our kids. Granted...gotta pull the kids out of school a little early since it's a 230pm viewing but idgaf. I told my boys they were sold out. Can't wait to see their faces next Friday.
I love all this stuff but I remember going to Rogue One wearing PPE and long underwear because I had covered a all night concrete pour the day before and some guy walks in dressed up as Darth Maul, really different experiences for the two of us
Honestly, also a horrible dad to tell them it’s sold out. Kids at school are laughing at them because they won’t be seeing it at opening You let your kids go through that for god knows how many days.
They are completely fine with not seeing it opening day. They just wanted to see it sometime that weekend. This will just enhance the experience.
Lots of Brie hate going on from some interview with ET she did with Chris Hemsworth and Don Cheadle... Wu you better get your girl before she ruins the movie...
