And stupid since the anti-woke shitheads aren’t even going to these movies for the most part anyways. Movie would’ve been better probably as a D+ exclusive. Mackie just crushes his role though.
Enjoyed it, the scene with JBB had a huge smile on my face Spoiler *awkward pause* “ did your speechwriters work that up for you?”
So many people haven’t seen Black Widow or Hawkeye. Yelena/Guardian are going to explode, everyone will love them. I even think Walker will play pretty well.
Did a rewatch of FandWS this week and came away a lot more impressed with the acting chops of Wyatt Russell and think surrounded by Guardian, Yelena, Buck he will play really well.
Also, after finally falling asleep at like 5 AM I had a dream that Kamala showed up to final Rulk/Cap fight. She didn’t help at all, just waved to the camera and tried to get a selfie with Rulk in the background. Extendable arms came in handy. I’m so weird.
The only way Thunderbolts won't work is if they can't figure out the tone and it becomes too silly for the story.
New Cap movie was very mid. Not terrible but also not even close to a top half Marvel movie imo. Hope Thunderbolts and FF are much better.
I didn't think it was very good, but it didn't stand out as being any worse than the majority of stuff they've put out since Endgame.
It's a problem in many MCU things, unfortunately. Whoever is directing and editing these movies needs to realize that there is only one RDJ and Hemsworth. It's the main issue with Falcon in Brave New World.
I haven't seen it yet. Guy I went to college with posted a review saying the Trump references/allusions/whatever word he used were over the top. He's a Trump voter, so maybe a case of a hit dog hollers?
They supposedly took a lot of that stuff out and they gave a redemption arc to him, which as several pointed out, was pretty dumb (and I thought the movie was better than expected but I had wildly low expectations)
Screening leakers said the “pill guy” was Amadeus Cho. Sam goes to Stark industries to meet with him and get the pill info. The leaker said the actor playing Cho was painfully awful and the scene was just as bad.
That was actually way better than I expected. I enjoyed it more than most of the crap they’ve flung at the wall since Endgame.
One of the russos commented on that. Marvel chose butts in seats over storytelling. Can't really blame them considering how their last few movies have turned out.
Do we think the AntMan jokes were because: Tic Tac kicking Sam’s butt at the Avengers Compound or Lang being the most popular Avengers since he wrote his book
I really liked it. Could have used more Giancarlo Esposito. Happy they finally paid off a teaser from damn near 20 years ago with Mastermind. Political thriller Marvel is usually pretty good, It was better than a lot of other Marvel movies. Mackie doesn’t really possess the Gravitas to lead a blockbuster.
that's the most bizarre part of it all, in how much of an Incredible Hulk sequel it is, after all this time, when it's not like fans were begging for a follow up. Shang Chi 2? Dr Strange 3? Nah, let's make a quasi sequel to our second movie ever that was almost instantly deemed skippable due to better movies around it and the lead actor being recast.
Saw it last night. I thought there were good parts, but definitely not one of my faves. Biggest gripes were all the damn exposition. Every conversation felt like it was trying to explain how we got here based on a 17 year old movie. why’d they keep the serpent society but cut out my boy Seth freakin Rollins… lame CGI was pretty terrible in the two big action scenes The choppiness from all the reshoots was super noticeable why was their an Israeli heading US security, and why was she the smallest grown woman alive? Other than that, I liked the characters/actors, and wish they got some better writing to support them. I hope they don’t give that creative team any more projects.
Ok, Spidey just broke my brain. That was really good. Wasn’t x97 good but that’s not its fault. So many interesting storylines already.
Harrys whiteboard Easter eggs: Spoiler Other thing, Tiberius Stone would be Tyler Stones grandpa. AKA ceo of future Alchemax and Miguel Ohara’s daddy. I wonder if Finesse will show up in Born Again? They must have cut kingpin? IMDB still lists him as part of the cast but lists 0 episodes.
I just finished and have many questions. Who was that with Daredevil? What was up with the purple necklace and seeing her mom again?
Spoiler DD’s girl is a newer character that’s in the avengers named Finesse. No clue why she’s with daredevil. That’s why I wonder if she’s going to be in that show? She’s taskmasters daughter and has the same instantaneous photographic memory but isn’t demented so she’s insanely smart and a perfect fighter. Nico is part of the Runaways. Her parents were dark sorcerers like Kaecilius. The original story is the jewel is part of a staff that channels her families magic. Her mom tries to kill her with it and she somehow absorbs it into her body. Then anytime she bleeds the staff appears and she has crazy magic powers. They’re obviously changing/cleaning up her story a bit.
Could've just let everyone think she was gonna fall off a bridge but no... Love the animation style they used for it, gives off classic Romita Sr vibes.
What an awesome twist that was. Had me totally convinced he was a villain and then WHAM: Decent human being. Hawkeye is lowkey one of the better D+ shows. Wandavision is number 1, but after that, Hawkeye, Loki, and Moon Knight are all orbiting around second place.
