Watched Endgame last night. Hemsworth is amazing throughout the movie, but he's especially good when Thor's back in Asgard to get the Aether. I laugh every time when his mom finds him and he tries to deny he's from the future until he finally starts crying and goes "I'm totally from the future". And the moment when he gets the Hammer right before they leave and says "I'm still worthy!" is the most underrated moment of the film, IMO. A great moment for a character at rock bottom.
Fat Thor could have easily descended into fat shaming for comedy’s sake but somehow ended up being a nuanced look at depression, guilt, and survivors remorse. I’m not saying this is high concept cinema, but it is annoying when critics and others ridicule and undercut the dedication and love the filmmakers put into these movies.
Not sure there's another actor who could have pulled off the Thor arc from the start of Ragnarok through the end of Endgame the way Hemsworth did.
pairing Rocket with him was a perfect touch. Anyone else and it could have fallen flat. and “let’s kill him proper this time” is so damn good
I noticed 2015 FF is on Disney + now and I made a joke about how bad it is. My 14 yr old didn’t believe me and wanted to see for himself. Halfway through, he was like “eh, it’s a little slow, but maybe mediocre? What’s so bad about it?” By the end, he’s saying “well that was just dumb. That’s the stupidest villain I’ve ever seen. WhaT was the point?” I feel bad for showing him this pile of trash, but his appreciation of the mcu just skyrocketed.
It was the worst kind of bad (boring) at least the 2 shitty predecessors had a unique brand of cheesiness to them
the first FF movie is a hodgepodge of some good stuff and some pure shit. I liked Reed Richards and Chris Evans did a great job with Johnny Storm, the rest...woof, Especially the Dr. Doom shit. 2nd FF movie was straight up bad despite an underrated performance by Fishburne as the Silver Surfer. Galactus as a smoke cloud entity was flat out insulting didn't even bother with the '15 reboot
The only positive I can say about 2015 is the look of the Thing. I wish the previous pair of movies Had that Thing instead of the terrible rubber suit.
My putter came in. I was going with a captain America color scheme but with it being a spyder putter I made it a little more Spider Man. Might see if I can find a couple web stickers for the top of it. Now hopefully it will help me sink a few more putts.
