The movie has been done for 5 months. The longer it’s delayed, the more likely the plot will become general knowledge. I was stoked to see it in the spring, hopeful for late summer, but now, it will be harder to get invested in a year old movie with no relevance to the next storyline. Unless they plan on changing it to tie into a multiverse plot or something.
A marvel flick that was really only made as a tip of the cap and a thank you to ScarJo isn’t something i ever expected to have any significant tie into the next phase of films. It’s going to be a fun action flick, that’s all I’m expecting and pushing it back is to give the movie its full breath to make money.
And maybe never made if not for the James Gunn fiasco. Otherwise this would be GOTG3 and not BW in this spot.
I actually think they're going to work in something significant toward the next phase precisely becuase it's viewed by so many as an expendable entry in the MCU.
So yall won’t fucking believe this, I have a large warehouse in Atlanta that I run my business out of and earlier this week a location scout came by to check it out for a film scene. Turns out we’re the #1 candidate out of 3 and the director / producer are coming by to do a walkthrough tomorrow. They have asked if we can get gunshots approved from our landlord. Just found out it’s a Disney+ show and it’s Marvel. Can’t say anything else for fear of the Mouse, but holy shit I’m excited
My guess is they’re clarifying he’s playing Fury because it’ll be around CM time with more facial de-aging
I'd prefer they keep that limited to the animated movies, but I guess Dr. Strange 2 is going to open all kinds of doors. Foxx is great and I'm sure Feige could do his Electro a lot better (he offered consultant help on how to improve AS2, which was ignored) but I'd rather they pull out a Rogue we haven't seen on the big screen before
I think they might not have a choice regarding a multiverse with the whole Sony deal. It sounds like they have no intention of giving spiderman back outright
I just want a Reynolds-Holland Spidey-DP teamup. They absolutely have to cross paths as Spidey tumbles through the multiverse.
Probably a per picture basis. There was no way to figure Downey’s deal value at the time...or even residuals in the years to come.
Yea, RDJ's money comes from the back-end. Marvel won't fuck that up again. But Reynolds' marketing brain is going to add a couple million per film to that deal, like The Rock or Kevin Hart
Been educating the 6 year old with the 90s X-Men series. But I have to wonder. I have always thought the most popular Marvel characters were 1 Spidey 2 Logan 3 Hulk. How has the MCU changed these rankings? Cap/IM/Thor? Where do they enter, who do they surpass?
