I think we’ve well documented that the biggest screw up was the failure to use AM and IM3 as precursors to AoU. Whenever I meet Feige IRL I will slap him on the wrist for it. No joke.
Ultron being a Tony Stark creation within the MCU works fine as a concept since it ties into his fear of failure leading to everyone dying and leads to Civil War. The execution of the concept in AoU however was terrible, and IM3 did it absolutely no favors.
As far as I'm aware the Iron Man specific movies ended after IM2. I have no idea what you guys are talking abt with this IM3 stuff.
The best part of the movie is Miles humming when he is stuck to the ceiling. Dammit, now I gotta watch that movie again.
I watch this YouTube channel called “Overly Sarcastic Productions” and on their Trope Talk series they often mention Spiderverse as absolutely top notch story telling and using the standard comic book/movie tropes in new ways that pay homage to the source material while also breaking new territory for the genre.
Do you think it would be cool or tacky/exploitative if the Carolina Panthers did some kind of marketing tie-in with Black Panther? Obviously there is the connection with the name, and Chadwick Boseman being from SC
Not Marvel, but Marvel adjacent -- a guy I work with at UofSC (Chuck Brown) has a Kickstarter for a book of short fiction he's putting out: He's actually pretty legit...writer and creator of On the Stump and cowriter/cocreator of Bitter Root for Image Comics. (Bitter Root is being adapted as a live action film by Legendary Pictures with Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Evans, and Sev Ohanian producing). Donate $20 if you want a signed copy of the book!
Was high as hell the 2nd time I saw the movie in the theaters. The scene where the Ancient One sends him through all the dimensions and shows Dormammu at first, I was on a great level.
Getting a feeling Marvel drops the Eternals trailer by New Year's. Phastos description from an upcoming toy release: Spoiler They will definitely tie in Tony Stark's and Wakanda's technology brilliance into this.
Football is dumb and I ended up knocking out the Binge Mode: MCU pods on The Ringer the last couple days that I hadn't gotten to yet. I've enjoyed them a lot and they burn a couple hours at a time.
Binge Mode usually is very informative, but if it’s the usual people (Mallory? Jason?) it’s like listening to two people who ate an entire package of pixie sticks
It is those two. I haven't listened to their previous Binge pods, but I find them very enjoyable on these. The energy is high, for sure. They talk a ton about the comics and the origins on the stories for the people here who are into that.
Binge mode Harry Potter was awesome. Their Game of Thrones pods were good too. Sad it will be ending but glad they’ll at least finish this Marvel season.
Next time you watch Infinity War pay attention to Scarlett’s eyes when Cap and Bucky meet in Wakanda and hug. Spoiler Right to America’s ass
Watched Cap1 after listening to the Binge Mode pod on it. "Don't do anything stupid until I get back." "How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you." Is such a good line, made better by the callback in EG.
